Since skill gain depend on curent skill , and the curent skill is highter because of the mod(not you )...

That is also something people have suggested as possible. My gut feeling is that it doesn't work like this but we could test for it in exactly the same way anyway.

Its been tried a lot already quite extensively (see threads posted above by Macce). Its not so much that its boring to test (also true though) but more that its very difficult to do. We're looking for very small improvements in hit percentage (eg. from 88% without attachments to 90% with attachments) and so its very difficult as other factors can affect results at that level (bad aim, lag misses, bad data recording, etc).

One of the many Sarah that did own the colourer avatar , had made a program to record skill gain using a OCR.
I know there is some group of player doing test with such program to track all skill data , amo consumption ...

I guess , with som good coded application , we can have zillion player agree for test and reduce a lot human mistake...And so , data gathered will be enough.

The main problem is to find such a software.

I think if they ever would have an impact on HA or dmg, then we would have seen it on the stats like amps do. but when I put them on the gun, no stat changes occur which leads me to the conclusion that it can only be a change of % in your skills(?)

Some ppl said once in a thread-a friend told me- that they increase the range of the gun in manual-aim mode

Tracking skill gains isn't a problem we have plenty of good software for that.

Even tracking hits and misses isn't a problem - Witte has written a program for that. The problem is not really recording the data any more.

Like I say above, I think we should be able to determine any noticeable change to skilling rate from attachments fairly easily - its simply that no-one has done it and published yet.

The problem with hit/miss is that there's too many factors involved and the change from scopes/sights is small. People with the same skills and same equipment record significantly different results. People hunt differently, people have different network connectivity, people hunt under different server loads, etc, etc. Trust me, its really hard to do, lots of people have already tried and there's still nothing particularly conclusive in terms of results.

Is this mean there no big difference enough to say there is difference ?
Is that in some way say , atachment dont change hit rate ?

Not really. If hit increases from 88% to 90% that's really hard to measure. But it still could have a moderate effect on your economy.

jdegre's skills scanner is probably the easiest way to track skill gains over time. Its a sticky in the skills forum.

I havnt done any proper testing but I see a big difference in amount of crits I deliver with attachemnts on. Not sure if it affects hitrate (cause misses are usually due to lag and vary alot depending on what/where I hunt) or avarage dmg.

Im using 2*Gargul lasers and 1*Jazr Scope on RJ+Dante.

I think most important question is: Do attachments improve HA on SIB guns? Not many people have maxed normal guns.
There is space to raise HA (~8%) so it's reasonable. But 2% of increase is low. There should be 6% on high-end attachments. If not - it's scam.
