For all ppl who whined about mob change: global counts

Alot of ppl whined about the mob changes, but it seems that we like them a little better than we some like to admit
Here are a few charts of wich show globals per day on Atrox and Feffoid.
The VU day data is left out.
Unfortunatly i started tracking only a few days before VU, but i think it's pretty clear anyways: The changed mobs are now more populair than ever.





Here is stats on Longu (unchanged mob) for comparison:



More stats to come when i have time

Mobs with higher HP tend to global more I dont think they are any more or less popular than before, not by much at least. If anything, people are curious about how the changed mobs feel, so more will hunt them shortly after the VU

Yeah i think i agree

You could get at least two conclusions from the data:
1. The mobs are more popular and as a result more globals is recorded from them.

2. The mobs have higher HP and costs more to hunt and as a result they loot higher. (not average but you get the point )

What is clear is that they are globalling more. What isn't clear, is why.

They have something like 3 times as much HP now, as well as increased regeneration, so if what we think we know about loot is true, they are more likely to global now than before. So more globals doesn't necessarily mean more people hunting them. It could easily be fewer people hunting them, but getting more globals (and probably spending more PEDs).

Having said that, I would guess that, for the moment, more people are hunting Atrox and the other changed mobs than before, but a large part of that will be because of people hoping to discover a new item or hoping to have a better chance of getting an old-school item (the theory being that 'rebalanced' mob = 'rebalanced' item loots). That number will most likely reduce as time goes on. I for one was hunting Atrox for a few days after the VU (and got quite a few globals) but have stopped now, and have no particular intention to hunt them again any time soon.

I think this is rather clear why it looks like this with globals.
Since HP were increased stronger players who had no fun in killing those mobs started hunting them again. Just after VU most of players wanted to see the change, so we had more people hunting them, more ammo burned there and more decay those mobs had "eaten". So their loot pool got higher. This is why at first we had more globals.

Now I think that older players that didn't see any fun at killing mobs like Feffs or Troxies got back to them, those who did kill them still do it, and only those who started to kill them and had problems before gave up. Well, ok... those who did small huntings also gave up, but they can't be considered as full time hunters that do it "profesionally".

More HP means -> more ammo burn on one mob, more decay it will eat before you kill it, more fap decay.
So if we have more peolpe killing them we have "better" loot, as loot pool will be bigger.

Troxies looted quite well all the time, as people likeed them, hunted them and loot pool was always full.
Now if there is more people hunting them I think the loot pool is even better on them. But if you take lets say 100ped ammo you can kill less of them, and your chance of global is smaller than before. Hunters who kill troxies using 200ped ammo have better chance, as always this is. So in the end I think it will be stronger=richer players who will gather the loots. And in the end we will see many mid-level hunters leaving troxies for later.....

Not complaining about it, don't get me wrong. I am only trying to show my point of view.
I didn't hunt Feffs any more for a long time, as I considered them borring. I think I will give them a try now.
On the other hand, I will not hunt troxies now (only in team or on soc hunts), as there is too many people who can spend more ammo on them than I can, and they have better chance for nice loots.

If I am wrong, happens... I am a miner most of the time anyway

Here's the deal, and it explains why the global count has upped considerably...

Before the changes, you would get loot distributed over the mobs, since their HP was low, so the chances of breaking even were bigger.

Now, with increased HP, mobs tend to pay in globals, instead of small loots... and you risk returning home nekkid, if you don't hit the global.

So yeah the chances of globaling has gone up, but chances of breaking even has gone down.

Its not a matter of popularity like you suggest Bruud.

Those mobs as of VU change stopped paying in bits, and started paying in chunks.

While you could go out and have an overall raised loot per mob and profit on a hunt without globaling, now with the adjusted mobs, you have to global to recover costs, and maybe with luck you may profit.

That's not really a good change in my book.

More and more you depend on luck to recover your hunting cash...
