Thanks for the replies and I agree and understand with much of what is being said.
My point remains however that if a new player starts today - makes a small deposit - walks to a blue TT - buys a pistol because they think they are cool - then walks outside of PA and tries to kill a Combibo Young they will not be able to successfully do this. If this is what MA intends then they have succeeded. If MA thinks new players hunting just outside PA need to be able to kill those mobs with any TT weapon then the health regen needs to be adjusted. |

Yes, with an Opalo..
they were weak but had higher HP and regen already before, so with a101 it went smoother. It just accents "don't hunt me nub" even more, same with Atrox (who at least had new L gun introduced in loot); However I do disagree with MA making maffoids/feffoids more uber. It was a good chance for P4a users and such to camp them, now it isn't and I think it creates a gap between higher level and low-level hunters. Anyway, my first 30 combibos or so didn't give loot/gave less loot than Daikiba Youngs around so I have never been a fan of them. Well, if MA would introduce some new loot for them that would make it worth it, I would hunt them. Afaik it didn't happen. |

The TT pistol is a joke as hunting weapon for all but the very weakest mob's, and Bibo's have never been the among the very weakest mobs. It is a good finisher for Opalo hunting.
As for a new player getting the TT pistol and hunting Bibo's - well they just got their first lesson in hunting. Choose a mob that suits your gear, skills, and budget. The beauty of EU is the difficulty and complexity and anyone so discouraged by a Bibo/TT Pistol hunt is probably not going last long anyway. I am all for MA making it easier to get started on Calypso (learning controls, getting a mentor, etc.) but thats is not the same as making hunting easier. The sooner one learns that not all mob's are created equal, the better. ![]() Miles |

![]() I never used the tt pistol; by the time I started skilling HGs I had enough LWT, CR, etc to get SIB on the P1a, so started with that. However I would never recommend the M2100 over the Opalo for the reasons that have already been mentioned - range and damage. I do remember hunting on the beach SE of PA as a noob and preferring the Exos over the 'bibos because the 'bibos had more health and so were harder to kill for that reason. On the other hand though, they were slower so I could shoot, run away, shoot, (repeat as necessary) until it was dead. Slow and laborious maybe - but so was running all the way back there from PA. |
