for 3.5 years now, and have yet to get an UberHof. My best loot was
over 3 years ago and was a 572 Ped Oil deposit.

I think this is true that each avatar has some path it should follow and this path is the best thing to do for ava. I know people who love to hunt, but they loose on it and later they craft to make for the lost peds so they can go hunting again.

I could have written this... If I want to hunt or craft, I need to mine for a while to pay for it.

I feel your pain.

I know it goes against all the common wisdom, but I also firmly believe that my Ava's hunting luck is in the crapper. 3 years, and 1 mediocre HOF, with my highest loot in the mid-200's.

My Ava also seems to have poor luck on contruction and mining as well. I consider a "good" run to be one that brings back more than 100 PED on the 150 I put into each typical run.

I've tried to analysize what I'm doing that's different from the more successful players, but couldn't find anything particular.

Lately I've been focussing on doing a lot of sweat runs and focussing on the skill gains (aiming for Level 30 Swordsman). Even the sweat runs are net losses since I kill the mobs and tend to be slightly un-eco overall.

I tell myself that MA is just saving all that loot up for "the big one", so let's see which one of us get's it first.

so my question was "am i unlucky?" and i seem to have been answered with a resounding YES!

regarding the mining, it has been stretched out over the entire period in runs of 1000 bombs. i have few area that i have learned are mineral rich and tend to do okay, just no global.

i think overall, looking at my loots and successes, i tend to do anywhere from 80% to 120% consistantly. so in the long run i have been doing well, skills are growing and i always have crap i loot in the shop to sell, just no big big loots.

Resounding YES. I would agree. I hunt some of the biggest mobs in game and I come up empty while other players around me rake in the huge hofs. It started out as a running joke in my soc and has now turned into an uncomfortable sadness for everyone around me.

I would suggest that it's the SIZE of mob you hunt. I have an eco setup hunting for medium mobs(no armor, imp fap, imp2870) and I have an outside chance at breaking even on very long hunts. With large mobs, the eco doesn't change that much(goes up a tad since I have to wear armor but free(ish) healing with imp) but the return is 50-60% on almost all hunts. I will make some once in a very long while but overall I make back 70% in the very long term. Why do I hunt large mobs still? Who knows, I'm a retard. I know my chance of hoffing on 1000 falx or 1000 SEG is ZERO while a bigname player's chance on the same 1000 mobs is almost assured.

So, in short, imho you av is pegged to a size of mob to hunt. try renting a fapper for the day and try out some high level mobs. Who knows... it could be for you.

Get a ghost+6Bs, HL8+E15, put the biggest scope and sights on it you can afford and 200 PEDs runs on big Allophyl for a week or two.

And if you are really hunting every day and have done that for the past 2 years, why are your skills still so low ?
From your skills it looks more like you do not hunt that often, ariund 50 AGI is not very high for 2 years and around 1500 evade and only about 400 dodge is also quite low.
Maybe so a week of scanning animals, your INT is also still quite low.

I surely did not get my globals because I am "lucky". I simply do not care much for "eco" or "return rates" and follow my guts
Getting a global or HoF is really nice, but I think for the most of the players they surely do not mean profit, for a minority maybe they mean a break-even.

Jeeze louise if what you are saying is true, and I have no reason to believe that it is not, I feel really bad for you and I don't know how you stay here. I wish you good luck in the comming days. To give you a little hope on the 14th of this month I was having a bad run of Feffs, about 3 or 4 no loots in a row and then bam a 1057 HOF and with auction ended up about 1150. SO maybe it is just loading up for a big one. I hope so. BTW the advice about Necru and Hispidus I don't think you should hunt those mobs. I am lvl 36 laser sniper and lvl 13.5 evader and I can barely kill either one using an Isis 53,they are tough mobs and I get kill at least once most of the time and have to TP back to finish them. Consider these stats:

Hispidus young Health 780 Hit points 116 threat 9048

Necru young H. 900 HP 110 T 9900

Feffoid Clan Warlord H.600 HP 70 T 4200

how are you seeing my skills? entropedia? i haven't updated that for several vus and now that the skill section doesn't work with the skill scanner (or does it again?) i prolly won't.

yea, i am not sure why my skills are not progressing as fast as my socmates either. i have used a UL sib gun since i bought one and before that the m2a+102 combo and before that only used the opalo+a105. so, as far as skilling was concerned i have always been on the low end. i know when i use the UL riker ul3 the green skill text is super infrequent. i know exactly why the defense skill are so low, i have always tried to kill things before they hit me and even if they are close i have a technique that i use that seems to reduce their hitrate. i will not share however. those that know wouldn't either. but that doesn't help me gain skills if i don't allow them to hit me
i am going to start keeping accurate records, but i hate all the datawork. perhaps i can see a pattern.

also, it was everyday at first until the amp nerf then it dropped a bit. but i can honestly think my problem is a combination of terrible timing and simple bad luck. the times i play are traditionally rotten loot times. i have no other explanation. i seem to find the right hunting grounds since many times i see another hunter global on the same mobs i am hunting. i have the knack to know what and where, but seems others get the goods.

oh, and i do not global in mining, but seem to keep it near the black, i must state this, i am not running red all the time, breaking even consistantly. so, that part isn't so bad
