Its all part of this wonderfull dynamic random system. When we start seeing hofs for 50 ped, then we need to start and worry a bit.

What is silly is that if a HoF is pushed out of the list, it doesn't reappear if a higher hof times out. At any time when a HoF times out, there should be plenty of HoFs still within 24 hours, but now not on the list, because there has come higher HoFs, that pushed them out.

Instead there is a hole left in the HoF list, and we get small HoFs like this, and spaceship HoFs...

Well, it does imply that some loots are getting bigger - not that the average loot is. ie x people hunt and get a total of y 200 PED loots; if 2x people hunt, you can expect to see more 2y 200 ped loots.

The hof table used to be a lot smaller then 100 entries, and there were times when it wasn't filled - especially the mining section.

I'm not worried...in no way does this imply that loot is going down. In fact, just the opposite. It tells me that quite a few people hit hofs around the same time, and they expired leaving a gap in the hof list...that's how low ped hofs get on there.

If someone added up all 100 HoFs every morning at 6am - then compared that daily total over time - would that tell us whether loot was increasing or decreasing?

No, I don't think so. You cannot track it daily, because of overlapping hofs. If player 1 gets a hof at 0:00 MA time, then in 24hours, it is gone. Within that same 24hours, you will have new hofs come in, and older hofs go out. On that same note, hofs on the bottom of the list risk getting "booted" if they are beaten. Perfect example is my 75ped hof, in 5 min, I was off the list.
In order for your theory to work, you'd need to track every new hof, every hof thats been booted, and over a period of about a week to see a trend. I think this is what would have to be done , I'm no expert, just stating what makes sense to me.

I feel even though there is a Hall of Fame list of 100 entries, they should, much like the globals, limit an entry to a minimum of 250 ped or 500 peds rather than allowing any size entry as long as it is bigger than Position # 100 or if the table entries have rolled off leaving a gap.

It is very much a let-down/demotivator in a psychological sense to a lot of people who thrive on the achievement of obtaining globals & HoFs to have such a small entry come up that means virtually nothing for the status it is awarded.

ie. 58 ped HoF What a joke ! More embarassing I would say than an achievement. If it were a 580 ped HoF then of course ...

By the same token 58 ped globals are nice and often congradulated on the field by your peers when acquired.

Maybe something for MA to assess on the psychological motivation front of the keeping the participant active, along with retaining the level of activity some participants go to, to achieve such a listed standing.

Even though participants at times need to manage their expectations as to not build themselves up for a let down, MA on the other side of the same coin should also help this process of managing expectations for their participants;

As it is normal subconcious human behaviour to build oneself up in such a way, and with a potential let down such as a 58 ped HoF, it is highly likely that their continued *in the moment* based activity of decaying items/burning TT would be adversely affected

Er, no it doesn't, as others have explained.

A global just below the 100th Hof does not later appear in the list if an existing Hof passes 24 hours and the list shrinks to 99. Only future globals are checked to see if they should be Hofs.

Actually I don't think this would be difficult to program, so I don't know why MA don't fix this so the Hof List genuinely is the 100 biggest loots in the last 24 hours.

And this would have the side effect of not allowing small globals to be Hofs when the list has shrunk to 99.

But I don't think MA have written it the way it is for psychological reasons - it's just lazy programming.

I just hate those mini HoFs, first you're like and when you hear the HoF sound, then you look at the global text and you are like

Anyway, there has been a lot of those big uber hofs lately, like 10 first hofs over 10k peds, so the loot seems to be staggering into those biggies all the time :p
