Question: Hunting for Items

Hi everyone, I'm now at Gradivore LA trying to loot a minor TP chip since yesterday. loot isn't so bad but no items so far, so this got me thinking :

• do you often/sometimes/never loot the item you're looking for ?
• How much Peds/time you spend trying to loot that item before you give up ?

I looted the item i was hunting for only once, what about you guys?

(stupid Gardivore don't want me to writ this thread, they are spitting acid over me every time i alt+tab )

I want Gazzurdite stones from Drones and they drop them indeed. Every hunt, over 100 pieces. Does that count?

I'm talking about weapons, armor pieces, tools... sorry that doesn't count

and I'm not talking about extremely rare items that are almost impossible to loot.. 'cause nobody can hunt for those

Minor TP chip is an item that still drops, but can it counts as an item when the price is only 200 ped? Try to hunt for an Camo or an ML35 thats an diferent task. i have looted 12 minor tp chips so far

Only 200 PED !?

Until last week when I finally looted a Minor chip, that was 180 PED more than my best non (L) Item.... I'll take a Minor chip any day.

PS. I've never looted an item I was looking for. tried for weeks to get a minor chip. Only dropped once I had forgotten about it and was just waiting for Green Dots in PVP4

That depends on your hunting lvl

Thats why my question was "have you looted the item you're hunting for?" and not "have you looted an item?"

PS: This isn't about minor TP chips, its only the item that I am hunting for.

Edit: I looted items that are more valuable than minor TP chip, but i wasn't trying to loot them.

Well, obviously if you're hunting for one specific thing there's less chance of you finding it than of finding one of any number of items. (at the end of the day, if you loot something else worth +200, then why not just sell it and buy minor tp - its the same no?)

Gradivores for instance, maybe you drop Vigi harness instead, or Bear gloves, or nature's eye painting, etc.

But well, when I last hunted them the tp chips were dropping quite 'regularly'. Checking auction history to see how many are selling and, if you're a member, Tracker to see how many are hunting them, probably gives you a bit of a guide as to their current drop rate. Keep trying, you'll probably get it within a week with a reasonable amount of hunting I'd have thought unless the drop rate has decreased since earlier in the year.

When I was collecting my set of Gremlin, the one piece I was most worried about looting was the gloves. After running through a few Merps on a mining run I went back with one TT fist to see if I could find those gloves. I got them on like the 3rd-5th Merp, still within sight of the TP. It was not a global, but it made me feel really happy that I didn't have to buy them from auction now

It depends on the item, of course. I have looted full Pixie (easy), Goblin (easy), Shogun (took a month or so but fairly easy), Kobold (took 2-3 months) and Gnome (maybe 2 months). I got a Minor TP within about 2 weeks of camping the big Gradivores.

On the other hand, I spent weeks looking for a Vigi Helmet and never got one, and no matter how much I try I can't seem to get the Snarksnots to hand over a Hunter Harness.

If I was trying to loot a DOA or a Firestorm Chip, I'd expect to be there for years and probably still not get one.
