Many weird theories regarding Limited and Unlimited weapons were write in here, so I decided to write down mine too. And join the club of the weirdest EU theories
![]() Ok I decided to compare two weapons with the same max damage, one limited and other unlimited. The weapons are Jester D-3 and Riker UL1 (L) Now lets assume I'm level 20 on hit and damage. So my HA on the guns are: Jester D-3: 2.0 HA - 18% of missed shots Riker UL1 (L): 10.0 HA - 8% of missed shots The weapons stats are the following Jester D-3 Ammo burn: 5 Decay: 0.730 pecs Markup: 0 Riker UL1 (L) Ammo burn: 4 Decay: 1.640 pecs Markup: (104%) 0.164 pecs I beleive that MA takes a fix a amount of the TT value we use in the long term. So lets assume that MA takes 10% of the TT value and the missed shots are simply lost. The hunting costs for 1000 rounds would be: Jester D-3 10% TT: 5.73 peds 0% markup: 0 peds 18% of missing shots: 1.03 peds Total: 6.76 peds Riker UL1 (L) 10% TT: 5.64 peds 4% markup: 0.63 peds 8% of missing shots: 0.50 peds Total: 6.77 peds So assuming that: - MA takes a % of the TT value, so loot is calculated by what you put in - Missed shots are lost and not returned in loot Both weapons are equal in terms of costs, but if you start paying more markup for limited items thes cost of unlimited weapons will be much lower, even if you don't have a nice HA. Of course, if loot is calculate by the damage dealt and not by TT value used, my theory will be as useless as many others ![]() Comments? |

I had a hard time finding out what exactly it is what you wanted to say..
maybe because i am not that clever. Anyways you have a few lines in bold.. let me guess that is your theory: Both weapons are equal in terms of costs, but if you start paying more markup for limited items thes cost of unlimited weapons will be much lower, even if you don't have a nice HA. I think you are missing the mindamage bit. At level 20 the riker is maxed out. Meaning you need more shots with the jester d-3 to kill the same mob. |

basically you buy the ricker for a better damage interval and in theory spend less ammo per kill in comparison to the jester d3. |

It is of course true that high % markup on an (L) weapon can (in some cases, such as the one stated) off-set the effects of 10/10 hit/crit-hit and the full 50-100% damage, making a comparable non-(L) weapon equally cost-effective.
What's harder to take into account is using a non-maxed (L) weapon during the SIB phase. I don't know about others, but I tend to only seriously use (L) weapons that I still have SIB on, as I think I get more skills. In this case I think the Extra skills offset the higher costs. But, OC, I might be wrong, as I am not an EU number cruncher. I play for fun, a CB-5 is fun for Snab-young, and a Frean-D Delta is fun for Trox. Economy? Pah! Fun! |
