I just noticed today that for a non SIB UL weapon if the minimum damage is 20 at my current 3.2HA and i add an A103 amp the minimum damage becomes 24 and not 20+6=26 as i thought. So it seems that for non SIB UL weapon also the amp has less eco
...Did i miss something?I tried to search the forum about this matter but i didn't found any related threads.. |

Yes, it's a terrible terrible waste of ped to put amps on unmaxed weapons. gl PS I am sure in my 2^12-10^3ħsqrt(N) posts i do mention it at least once. PPS using (L) amps changes nothing |

It was changed at some point in the past, but an amp, any amp, can only add 50% of a weapon's damage.
So if you're weapon does 9 Pen and 11 Burn (20 DMG) the most you can get additional from an amp is 10, else you'll get the warning message that your weapons can't utilize the full power of the amp. If your style of play means you have to account for every nanopec, then you must never do this, and instead must buy lower-powered, higher priced amps instead. Personally, I've been perfectly happy to drop the E-13 amp I picked up for a fraction of its worth on an Opalo when absolutely necessary (such as assisting a soc member eliminate drones when a bot ship was found), and never thought twice about the .some-odd-pec extra decay because I was using the "wrong" amp. I still got my +3 dmg, we still eliminated the drones, and looted the spaceship for 200 Ped beacon, plus a few other odds and ends. Go ahead pec-pincers, squirm all you want. |

I am not positive but I think the problem is the damage from the amp is added to the MAX damage, minimum damage is then 50% of max. So your max will be fully affected by the amp but your min will not.

So you can only get the maximum damage range from an amp if you use it on a maxed gun. |

Saying that it's still more is eco is <analogy also removed because of international law> the difference works out to be 1% more. People who are losing 200ped every 20k ammo run aren't going to be concerned with 1% Posted by Self Aware Automotive Device |
