Well, i decided to do a test for when i was low on ped. I heard some people saying hunting snables with opalo+a101 is very eco. I started with nothing. After 1k sweating got bored and sold it for 5 ped and bought 500 ammo. This tread is not about my loot or if i break even, it is more a question why apolo+a101 would be more eco than just an apolo.
Only an Apolo: Snable Young > average 4 Shots > 8 pec Daikiba Young > average 5 Shots > 10 pec Apolo+A101: Snable Young > average 3 shots > 6 pec > 2 pec decay on amp > total 8 pec Daikiba Young > average 4 shots > 8 pec > 3 pec decay on amp > total 11 pec So hunting daikiba isnt more eco with a101 Snable i get same costs per snable only i can shoot some more snables with an amp. After 500 ammo hunt i got 1.7-2.0ped A101 decay. Lets say the worst case 2ped decay. Apolo decay is not included because apolo decays very slow. Without amp > 500/8=62 snables Total costs: 5 ped for ammo With amp > 500/6=83 snables Total costs: 5 + 2 = 7 ped. 7 Ped without amp would make: 700/8=87 snables.. When decay is 1.7 ped without amp it would make: 670/8=83 snables.. Do i suck in math or is hunting snables without A101 more eco than with A101?? |

well it's pretty hard to compare eco when mobs die in such little shots because then you have overkill, the equivalent of a snable with opalo+A101 is like using a weapon that does 75-150 dmg on argos, 122 dmg would bring the argo down to 188 hp, 92 dmg would bring is down to 96, then 145 dmg would kill it. The extra 49 dmg is "wasted" and if the weapon did 70-140 dmg which costs less per shot, it would cost less to have killed the argo.
The A101 adds damage to the opalo and it costs less to shoot the opalo+A101 twice for something in the range of 12-24 dmg, than to shoot the opalo 3 times for the same range of 12-24 dmg. So for small mobs maybe bring the snable down as close to dead as you can, then use a powerfist or tt pistol to finish it off. Hope this helped clear some things up for you. |

Eco doesn't depends on the mob.
Everything was tested too many times already, check entropedia and the weapon compare tool. Unamped opalo gives an eco of 2.733 dmg/pec and an a101-amped gives 2.841 dmg/pec. If you own an a101 and don't use it, you literally waste pecs with every shot. Of course if you hunt very small mobs that dies too fast your very last shot on them can be overkill when amped. If that bother you, bring two opalos, amped and not, and use second one as a finishing gun. |

Having the highest Dmg/Pec ratio is ONE of the ways to being eco.
Another one is to avoid overkill. And Opalo + A101 leads to overkill for Snabble and Daikis young. But you may consider hitting them with Opalo + A101, and finishing them with a TT pistol. ![]() Last edited by Executor; 11-09-2008 at 21:10.. Dont use armors - use faps for skilling anatomy skill that adds to your DMG pro. |
