What armor / armors?

forget the vigilante. it's not really a very good general hunting armour.

for your cut/impact/stab needs: shogun, gremlin, knight, ghost, nemesis.

get whichever you think is more affordable. I put ghost in the list because it's cut/impact/stab protection is better than nemesis - but, personally I wouldn't use it. if a single drone came wandering by, you'd be hard pressed. I don't like having six different suits of armour, so I prefer ones that cover as much territory as possible.

Rascal with 2a plates does a good job IMO.Vigilante for bots only not to good for mobs.

Well since you named 3 mobs you'd like to hunt. Rascal will do 1/3 nicely, the Argo. Shogun will do Atrax very nice and trox just ok. Shogun is better on argo than rascal is on trax/trox. So shogun is your armour.

Since you never mentioned bots for hunting then vigi is not worth it.

Now if you want to ramp up your protection just plate the shogun.

I personally use rascal. It works well. I avoid the trax/trox and focus more on molisk/argo/corns/exas. For which it works quite well.

i think this is a good thing to quote in this thread, as shogun is on the list and even though shadow is mentioned in the same post shogun is still the backup part.

i use shogun (full) mostly right now. i have a rascal set in the apartment as well. i cant decide which is better in protection or cost, but the shogun is doing me right at this time so i keep it on. i mostly hunt argo and trax and whatever else i come across and shogun seems to be a good all around armor to save my ass at any time.

edit: not to mention shogun looks damn good, and we all have to admit that is in fact part of it.

Overprotection you say? Not really, you just pay for the absorbed damage anyways... Dont need to take 1 damage from Atrox Old Alpha you say? Well, try criticals from them, or try criticals from stalkers or prowlers!
Crappy against Marber Tango you say? Well, WHATS NOT?
Crappy against bots? Not really, better than average for sure, but no, not the best. But then again, buts sux

well, how about knight?
if you just want lower stuff, shogun will do it
rascal is not really more useful than goblin against impact, or shogun against argos
or if you can afford, even gremlin, with a pretty nice overall protection
i wouldn't go for vigi too

I'd say keep your goblin for the snabbles and get a set of shogun for other stuff. Shogun doesn't cost too much and is good for many low to mid level MOBs. You won't want to keep it forever, but it will last you a good long time.

gremlin because it has a good Cut Stab Impact protection and it's a long term investment --> hunting in space or other big acid mobs ...

2.
ghost for good overall protection or if you want to hunt bristles, allos, feffs
(electric, cold ..)

evade chips and one of the "good" FAPs
