What armor / armors?

Like much of this crowd, I voted Goblin/Shogun. It's the layout I use. Plus with the mobs you mentioned it's your best bet.

Look at pe-wiki. Look at how many impact-only mobs can be hunted in Goblin. It's a pretty long list. Keep in mind that Goblin actually has better impact-only protection than Vigi or Shogun. Shogun is great for inexpensive C/S/I protection.

As for plates, use plates to augment the armors strengths, not cover their weakness(es). Some get Vigi then add impact plates to compensate. That's not a great idea. I put 1A's (+5 impact) on my Goblin and 2A's (for added cut/impact) on my Shogun. This (plus nice evade, fap & weapons) allows me to hunt anything from Atrox Old on down.

Bots? With Shogun, I can only deal with gen 1, maybe gen 2, but I often get mobbed. I usually leave them alone and stick to "animal" hunting. My soc mate Kassy, she's the bot killer.

Shogun is the best bet. You can hunt alot of traxes torxes and argos in them. Hell if it is necessary you can take down some big mobs while in Shogun.My best one to date is atrax provider on CND while in shogun. So if you need good protection go for that.

with 2k evade you can hunt snablesnots alpha's naked.

so loose the goblin and get gnome instead. slap 2a plates on them
now you have a set that compares to rascal with impact/cut and doesnt decay as much as rascal. (16 impact/7cut compared to 15 impact/8 cut). You can now hunt all nice med level impact/cut mobs without breaking a sweat or loosing a buck.

For the bots side: check which parts sell for tt: vigi arms, paladin face, knight thighs, and the rest you can go shogun.
slap 3b plates on all that. and you got yourself the cheapest anti bot set that protects the best. Just don't care that you look like you work in a circus.

I use knight armor and happy with that. Looking for a full vigi for the drone hunt.

I agree thats my setup, very low decay and decent protection.
