My (not so typical) first global

I realize the "brag" section is a different section, however this is more of an inquiry.

I have been playing EU for just under six months. I started playing shortly after my husband started and I realized if I ever wanted to speak to him again, I would have to create an account LOL Seriously, we spend almost all our time together in game.

Any mining claims I got, I gave to him to sell. Most items looted hunting I gave to him as well. In return, he keeps me supplied with PED.

We both enjoy helping out new players and have both mentored officially and unofficially several of them. My frustration grew as I watched these new players and my husband get globals occaisionally, while I'm "busting my butt" along with them and have never gotten one. Yes, I know it's random, but come on...throw me a bone every blue moon.

One particularly frustrating day for me we were discussing it and were trying to figure out what set me apart from all these other "newbies" getting globals. The one thing that came to mind was that I had never deposited under my own account (each one of the others we've helped had.) My husband has deposited and handed over the PED.

So...whether I needed it or not.....I deposited.

Guess what happened three days later?

So, now I'm wondering.....is there a connection?

Can anybody confirm or totally blow this theory out of the water?

Yes there is.

You have more peds, you can hunt longer, and you use better gear for the period after you deposit. So the chances to get higher loots (that naturally come once in a while) are bigger by times the extra time you hunt or loot.

So, yes, there is a connection, but it's not special. You are not priviledged to greater loot if you deposit, even if you want to believe so.

MrProper somed it up.

I went 2 years with no globals. I had deposited over $500 USDs in this time. I've since deposited over 2k USDs.

I've found no connection other than what MrProper points out.

Like a loto, the more you hunt=the more chances to get a global. More peds=longer hunts=more chance of better loot. Adversly, you also have greater chance of lose. So hunt smart and have fun.

I am on ~80 globals without depositing (and before that ~25 with depositing). So no connection if you ask me . Gratz on the near HOF!!!

Not necessarily. I have never deposited using my own avatar during my 2 and a half years in Entropia (but I have deposited) and I have got alot of globals. I don't think it has anything to do with your depositing background.

Well... I can totally relate to Ameri' situation! It's absolutely the same for us here: my husband deposits (heavily, if you ask me ) and I get the PEDs from him. Which means I don't have a single deposit made under my own avi, all went through his.
Our first hit happened after 10 days of playing (!) and that was a 420 PED hunting HoF . I must say this happened right after a big deposit DH made, and we were team hunting. We got a few globals since then, but ALL of them while team hunting and to ALL of them it was DH who inflicted the most damage and looted the mob. DH also had some crafting globals and a solo hunting one. I only had one globie on my own and that was a spaceship I found while mining.
I know it's supposed to be totally random and so, and I actually believe that up to a point. However, my experience until now is that a HoF happened minutes after a massive deposit, and the depositing avatar gets all the globals while I'm left on dry land. Dunno if we can jump to conclusions, probably not, but I just wanted to share this especially that someone else seems to be in the same place.

oh and i dont think there is any connection between depositing & globals except for the fact you have more money to hunt/mine with. I would say its just coincidence in your case, but if it works for you then make sure you deposit for your own avatar in future

Been playing since VU 4.0...

Each time ive deposited i have come to expect the following:

1-2 days of non profit.. followed by one or two globals..

Deposited a "medium" deposit once.. and that gave me 3 ubers in a week...

Dont know if there is a global pattern.. On my avatar there is

Viateslav: yeah it would totally make sense IF we were hunting more after a deposit, but it wasn't the case. We did 100 PED ammo run, as always, and the depositing money went into buying apartments and stuff, not for hunting more intensively.

Again, this is just an observation. My hunting sessions are pretty good actually, I normally come back with a little profit, just no globals on my own, ever, while the depositing avatar gets 1-2-3 each week
