I have seen a few threads about missing mobs from certain areas. I feel this information could help someone new to the game to figure out whats going on.
If you hunt a certain area often at the same time of day the mobs are usually in the same spots. Lets use the Corns North of Fort Argus as an example. At the times of day I usually play 6PM EST - 4 AM EST the spawn is usually pretty sparse. Lately, I have been logging in during the day to attempt to break my "no loot" streak after my first global. I have went there to find the spawn very thick with usually 4 - 5 hunters blasting the corns (only 1 or 2 at nights). So where did they all go at night? Well after running around to find them they seem to come from the far west and "migrate" east during the day and head back sometime before I usually log on. I have observed this for about a week but have yet to catch them going back to their orginal location. If any one has noticed this type of behavior from mobs or have something useful to say please post in this thread. |

This is kind of conjecture, but I think the mobs spawn in one place and tend to migrate in a certain direction.
I'm guessing that at certain times of day, they may be sparse in one location because someone (or several someones) came by and shot up the area. Therefore, there are less mobs and they are in the spawning location. Again, I could be wrong, but this seems to be what happens in some of the areas where I hunt. |

That is a good idea. I have noticed that when most exas and snables spawn they also start moving in one direction. I'm thinking its more like a herd patrol maybe. With mobs moving back and forth in a certain direction. Because if you also observe, the mobs will stay at one spot for a very long time. As in the Corn example, you don't find many too far east of the hills there.

what tends to happen is the spawn gets moved by hunters not running to the edge of the spawn radius. if one area to hunt in is unfavourable (in the corn example, that would be over the sandy hills where the snables are) then thats where the spawn will collect, as there are the least hunters there.
what you will find is that hunters during the day have the nicer middle spawns, and while killing the mobs slowly filter out the spawn to the unfavourable areas. then when you come on in the night, the spawn has been moved and only 1 or 2 mobs are respawning in the current area (remember that spawns do have a limited mob allowance). i would recommend that if you are spending more than 1 hr in an area, find out where the spawn radius goes up to. many, many times you'll be suprised that its further than you think (especially on eudoria) and just taking the time to check it you will be able to find the nice spawns of 20+ mobs ![]() |

what aio said
![]() the rig is the best example, people only (usually) hunt trox ther eto keep them from the rig, all trox that spawn in sight og the rig get shot and killed, when they respawn ther spawn either in sight of the rig or not those that spawn insight of the rig get shot again - repeat respawn and so on untill all the trox have spawned out of sight of teh rig. now the rig has a ring of trox fround the outside, but not trox can be seen from the rig. basicly if the hunters dont hunt part of the spawn area all teh mobs will eventually end up there. edit: hope that made sense |

ok, but...
I often go to the Atrox/Feffoid outpost SW from Argus. There is a big field and the hills. If you get there and the field is empty, then start shooting up the hill, you will come back down and the field is now littered with mobs. Watch a while, and you will see that they start eventually climbing back up the hill. Very few ever come back down to the field unless you coax them. |

Yep, and you gotta be careful of some of the mobs wandering habits. The other night at Nea's Place, right at the top of the skinny Ambulance land, there was a huge spawn of Ambulances.
I started tagging them from the South. The lethal thing was that they were all walking south. So as I was busy with 2 of them on me, the whole herd was getting progresivley closer, to the point that I was surrounded by the buggers, and got hammered. TP'd back and this time took them on from the North, much easier having them all slowly walking away from you and just having the ones you have tagged to deal with ![]() The Feffs do this too West of Fury, they all tend to wander E or NE, kinda funny to see 30 of them all wondering east for a picnic or something.. |
