Well I have a very general theory on this. Is can be summed up by this. Basically you feel your getting better loots from your mkI rather then opallo cause of the higher ammo and decay. I feel that if you take higer risks eg using weapons with higer decay or ammo usage you will generally get a better chance for bigger drops. I do get good drops with opallo but after a longer time spent hunting say maybe 4-5k ammo rather then if I were to use my merc40. But I must stress this is all a theory under testing as there are other factors too like location and timing. Overall it's not something you can really predict but a system of hunting will help you lose less

well the loot system is a zero sum system or at least so has Marco once said.
That means you cant loot any more than what has been put into the system at a given time. Also if you hunt long enough you tend to atleast get enough loot to cover your ammo usage. Many of a hunt i been on i got back enough in loot from it to pay for my ammo and if lucky pay some decay on something. Money is put into this system by many ways including when you visit the trade term to buy ammo and then shoot off that ammo, the fees in auction and rents on apartments probrbaly even the income from marcus callender and the ad system. These bonus additions to the system other than the ammo spend and a portion of decay repaired is and inefficient play is where the extras and individual profit comes in. If you profit from your hunt or mining run that profit coems from this extra. the uber players who have high skills and efficient equipment like mod fap and imk2 can play most efficiently and there by have a better chance at making a profit. Thier high skills means they dont miss as often and hit with high damage more often meaning it cost them less to kill a given mob faster. thier high evades and mod fap mean they dont need to use armor with a mod fap 1 pc for 160 points of health goes along way. the high tt and high efficiencly of the impk2 mean that they cna afford to hunt for days and wait for a hof to repair it. When they spend several thousand ped for a day long hunt and get their ammo back it means they can continue hunting for a good while before having to repair anything. The chance of killing the mob that has just been to the bank is based more on luck and other unknown variables. It is by killing that mob that your gonna get your global, hof or even the mini that will go a long ways to making things profitable. Using a different gun can get it so you get more loot, more average loot and potentially can increase your chance of killing that special mob. using a gun that cost more per shot means you would get more in loot to at least refund you ammo costs over a long hunt. That increase can be percieved as in increase in average loot. a gun that is both high damage and fast reload can also help get you a bigger percieved loot by increasing your chances of killing the special mob who has just visited an ATM. However these bigger guns can also help you lose more if you are inefficent in thier use.. So you can have a bigger percieved loot and yet lose your arse on a hunt. Likewise it is possable to have lower percieved loot and still make a profit or even truely break even on a hunt. Using an opalo hunting noob mobs with no armor and a fap 5 where you you maybe you dont even get a mini above 40 ped and an average loot of 1-2 ped and lots of 50+ pec loots can mean you come out a head in a long hunt. |

my personal theory is that it`s based on an old fashioned dice roll , possibally a twelve sided with no side higher than six , mobs have no predetermined loot as it is the dice roll that determines it , now , how many dice in the equation determining the outcome is anybody`s guess , but like everyone elses theory , it`s weak and unproven

I for sure prefert hunt with imk2 than all other weapon i hunted a lot with (adj v1 , v2 , mk5 , mk5 me , mad4 , delta, imp2870,adj2722,adj hero) , and not only for the basic eco , but i got the feeling i miss less , also i hof a lot more.
And when i say a lot more , its a LOT more. |

Now a days I really think it does, but maybe as an multiply’er something along the lines of how the mining amp works. I also believe this true especially with armor used!
Examples of this would be Ah lady oh .. With her two recent hofs ... She was hunting all the time in shadow even the longu’s. when I was using the Mod Tr 6 I was getting a lot of good loots with that gun ... The mm and I mk2 if you notice have large ammo burn per shot, that is why they loot well. The Mod Tr6 while not being a large ammo burning gun, does decay a lot... Really a lot! So I think in weapons high ammo burn or a high decay weapon can help with loot but the trick is finding just the right combo. The imk2 is a combo high enough burn to get decent loots, but even if you come up short on hunt it’s easier to replace lost ammo then to fix up a weapon like the Mod TR6 But that is just my opinion.
