More efficient hunting

I'm a quite beginner hunter (my biggest combat skill is ~350 in longblades), and i hunt cornundacaudas/caudatergus with an axe and no armor south of chimera. I don't use an armor because i think it gives more skills and/or more loot, and as i'm not rich, i prefer to have decay on my fap.
This method makes me be able to hunt cornus young, and caudas old, and bigger ones when i have the luck to give 2-3 hits before being attacked. But yesterday, in order to fight bigger mobs, i decided to try to use a jester-d1 in addition, to be able to inflige more damage before being hit, then take my axe to finish it. But this way, i realized that my axe was a lot less efficient. Is it because i have no experience in "support weapon system"?

if you wanna really hunt without armor then you will still need to use a jester

to 'pull' single mobs of a herd... as you will have problems with 3-5 mobs attacking you.

i would really advise you to get a pixie suit as you wont fap so often and in that time kill quicker.. means less reheal less decay per kill.

the weapon support systems skill isnt implemented yet.

i personally use a mph/m2201 to finish off mobs its much cheaper 5.6 pec overkill by axe

but mostly im too impatient for that by now .p
