As I read it a SIB gives a temp skill bonus to whatever skill the weapons gives bonus for till the learnign period is OVER.
A scope gives you a skill bonus so long as it's attached to the weapon (to hit only is the bonus it seems)

A bonus is a bonus in general terms. Which is all I was saying. SIB is x% for example 5.8% laser sniper, scope is like 8% bonus on a scope or even a laser added to a weapon to to hit is what is said above.
Bonuses are different granted but the general idea of it being a bonus is the same.

So what I had to say doesn't directly pertain to the guide. but I was not trying to say it had anything to do with it. Just that the idea behind SIB is the same as the idea behind buying a scope or a laser to add to your weapon.

differance being SIB ends after a time and you must get next weapon. Lasers and scopes don't require a level for the bonus.

And if your talking about when I was asking if 0.3/10 was what sib was then you should learn to quote. If your not going to follow the thread where it was at the time of your posting. No offence meant here at all.

But if one is going to point out issues with something they think is wrong one should use the subject they are speaking of to make themselves clear.
These are 2 different bonussen. The skill "Increase" bonus will make your skillgains go faster. And the bonus from scopes and sights, is simply an increase in you hitability.

Although the last part isnt all that clear yet. Its seems nobody exactly knows what these attachments do. For more reading see: The efficiency of scopes/lasers

True from what Iunderstand now they are different. The Weapons offering bonuses while you level up to potentially 3 different professions and skills.
while the scopes and lasers hmm who knows i'm off to read the link you listed to see if maybe I can puzzle it out. +rep for being understanding.

It also seems I havea few more guns to look over and see if I can use them yet. Much like my mining gear i'm up to 103's and 104's now with all this new SIB stuff. hand for sure. Making my return to Pe/EU far more enjoyable than the hit or miss of the past i've had to deal with.

I think almost everyone will tell youu to start with an opolo rifle.
But now there is a New low level BLP-SIB (L) riflle .
BLP is a little more costly to start on. With the way things are now if you were in to BLP i would say:
1.get an opolo and skill a little (i skip the isis because the opolo can be reapaied and its just a damn good rifle.)
2. switch to the Geotrek Niloticus at level 5

as far as the "realy good weapons later " goes- i dont know, im not there yet
but they are expencive as hell and have both high damage and decay.

Midnght, your on the right track i think the SIB weapons should be called ISG weapons "Increased Skill Gain"

So I guess in the end you with the new SIB stuff you have two schools of throught here.

Do you want to skill faster or earner peds faster.

Skilling one would hope can keep you self reliant and skilled up.

Peds is get a big gun take down large game, damn the skills for the globals and hofs more frequently.

Of course all this has to be coupled with decay to peds spent on ammo and boredom factor.

Like a rifle using up 22 shots for 99 hp damage.
Or a 2 shot usage for up to 5 hp damage which BIG If you did all hits 5 points no misses you'd still only do 55 hp damage for the same price cost in bullets. But is the skill trade off really worth it.
Spend peds for skills.
Guess so.
Just as long as ya don't get bored. }:>)

Good thread plus rep to the writer you've all been very helpful. rep added to those where appropriate.

Ok... here comes a question probably as stupid as me

The (0.8),(1.0) after the weapons in for example the rifle part, is rekkomended rifle skill level in thousands?

The answer is probably obvious but i had to ask

Hmm I don't think that's in the thousands.
It's based on the profession level I think.
Taking my personal experience from mining.
I coudln't use the next or finder till I hit the profession at 2.2

This is not skill points as nothing I have is yet to even hit 1000 in total points.

So 0.8 would be 0.8 under level 1. and 1.0 be Level 1 in that profession.

So example of the image on page one
Name: Ranged Laser (DMG)
Recommended Level 5.6
Skill Progress 5.8%

So you won't get the bonus till your level 5.8 about 25% away from level 6 in the Ranged Laser (DMG) profession.

But I can be wrong on this.

Those are the numbers you talking abotu right? The ones after Recommended level?

Or you mean the ones lower near the bottom like damage interval which I take to mean there's the max and that's yoru rate so if it's 5.00/10.00 your are at 50% currently.

Well same i wrote to midnight also counts here (seems midnight did read it though ).

I will quote the guide:

"Look at all of your professional standings and their current levels, using your Actions Book ingame (hit "X"). In this book you find the star-symbol to gain access to the Professional Standings overview. Professional standings relate to the skills you aquire when acting in Entropia. All skills relate to sertain professions, and all skills add to your levels with different impact. For a complete view of all skills and their impact, take a view of this page in PE-Wiki."

The number in paranthesis (0.8) written after the gun name in the chart is simply the level you should have to begin using that gun.

Your avatar got 65 different professions. Look them all up in your Actions-book and hit the STAR-symbol to see the professions and how you progress.

If a gun states to recommend use above level 8 laser sniper profession, it simply means that this gun is not worth using below level 8, and much better for skill increase above level 8.

Approximately 4-7 levels after you began using the gun, you will have gathered enough skills to use the gun with maximum power. Skillgain will decrease again, but the gun gives you the best economic and killing effect possible.

Hope it makes sense

And to Midnight who enjoys a Marber Bravo rifle with less than 1000 rifleskills:
Please keep enjoying the nice blast and range of the Bravo, but also keep in mind that you only get about 10% (1.0/10.0) of the full capacity of this gun, but you still pay for 100%

Yeah Bit of a trade off. Sicne i've got it i'll go skilling and carry it in case of a jam till I can use it to it's fullest potential. }:>)

Least now I can take off the scope and the laser and add them to a gun for some skillage.

Do keep in mind that its likely the scopes and sights ad a percentage to your current level. So when you have just 0,8 and you add attachments that give 50% bonus, you will endup with just 1,2 HA. That very small difference probably wont be worth the extra decay.
