Its a good point you got. One needs to investigate which guns are the better for a long fast skilling period. And ofcourse the best would be to stick to either Laser or BLP.

Question about BLP v/s Laser is impossible to answer. It would always come down to a personal choice of the upper class guns. If you compare the lower end (SIB) blp-guns with laser-guns you will find that they are very close in damage as well as economy.

For a complete noob I would say the low BLP actually have some advantages... (discussion about this maybe another place )

The choice should rather be about availability. Which guns are actually available ingame, and which are hard to get = expensive. Using the limited guns takes a constant source of supply, and purchasing with too high markup can ruin the main goal of cheaper skilling.

A quick look in auction will tell you that the looted Isis guns are still rare, while Korrs suddenly are very cheap. And your suggestion about high level skilling with BLP is good enough, if it was not for the fact that the highend BLP guns are extremely rare.

The little emik starter blp pistol is currently extremely easy to loot. Any noobs who want to get a start on BLP pistol could probably provide themselves with their own weapons after buying one starter. Hunt small snables and exas with it and you can probably loot more than you use.

just a small cosmetic note: I think the emik series use the "FreanD" gun model instead of the "Omegaton" model.

Thnx for the nice info. I wonder if i can get any more SIB when i have about 3.6k in rifle and lvl 27 in rifle. Possible to get more SIB from one of those new weapons?

I dont think there are any actuall tests in this, so far its just something people have experienced. An example: I gained ~380 levels in clubs when using a 182 club with SIB. (avarage ~2 levels a ped) After that I tried a 68 PED mace with no SIB and gained ~100 levels (avarage ~1,5 level a ped).

I know this is kinda flawed data, because at 380 levels, skillgains are probably already slower. Plus I am not sure how long exactly I was in the SIB. Another thing, I used the club on ambus and beries, while I used the mace on tantillions (which are known as the skillmob)

A nice test would be 10 fresh noob avatars, all shooting 100 PED on the same mob, 5 using opalo, and 5 using a jester. Then compare the difference. But untill then, I think we just have to trust MA

You are right again, though the smallest Emik got Svempa-style and the bigger Emiks got FreanD-style. Maybe an error from MA, but it sure did fool me

Since we dont have any records (yet) on how long the SIB lasts, it would be very nice of you to test this. Try finding a "Crista" and see if you still got SIB left. Likewise you could try checking out the BLP-rifles. Post the results here or here.

My guess is you still got some good sniper-skills left on some of the new BLP rifles, since they would have a lower average from your lacking BLP-technology skills (I assume you are a laser-gunner).
