Question: Are EU players crazy???

Dont know how you drink, but not everyone wakes up the next day with a blurry memory But the most important thing is, that i am with my friends, the people that means something. I earn enough with money to not see the need to sacrifise friends and familiy, to earn some cash from an game. Dont understand how someone can see EU as something serious. Some owns a shitload of skills and alot of valuble items, but its still ingame, you still need to sell everything and then withdraw it. And does anyone actually belive that thoose cash will be there for the rest of youre life?

Must be hard if one wakes up one day and get to know that one are about to die couse of an sicknes, and all you have is a Virtual Reality to lean back at, no RL friends, no experince of travel the world, no nothing but some pixels. Well, maybe then one actually whis for death, what do i know?

I agree. I was speaking about a specific group of people when I was talking about $100 nights of drinking. It was those people I was comparing some EU players too.

That being said, I enjoy a night out with friends as often as possible. I'm a bike rider and involved in a writers group and poker club. But my friends in Entropia are just as real as my poker buddies.

The original post was about being 'crazy' - there are crazy folks in Entropia to be sure. But in no greater number than are in the real world.

On the drink subject, a night out with the lady for dinner, usually costs me 100 - 250 in 1 bottle of wine alone.

A night out in Sydney doing a bar crawl would set me back 100 odd in beers, 7 - 8 bucks a pop for the standard beers in the nicer clubs.

A night out on the cocktails in the revolving tower would set me back anything upto 300 bucks.

When I was younger going out to the nightclubs ... well lets not go there in costs

100 bucks is not hard to do, it is very easy to whack up 200 - 250 bucks for a night on the town in food and drinks alone not to mention any other expenses.

Never the less, it is a good comparison made by Thoreau, one must look at their entertainment budget and see where there money is going if they call this a game ...

If it is a business, well, all good business require consistent investment and will incur continuous outgoings and expenses. Over the period there are gains to be made and loses to be incurred. That comes down to business sense and experience.

All up right now, just my firearms cost almost 5k USD (not including amps, scopes and sights, that would be another 1k USD) along with a new addition of launchers to be purchased next year in excess of another 1k usd and believe me they are not all top line models yet do the job effectively.

I said long ago in postings here on EF, if you think prices are expensive now, wait till the rest of the new universe comes online This is only the start of Virtual Item Ownership.

I think that most of players here are crazy and addicted too as we keep on complaining about this all thing, we say how bad loots are, we point out that others get ATH or HOFs while we can't get a proper return rate but we play. When we go to work we look on EF to see what has happened in game, when we can't log in because servers are down we go mad, we spend sleepless nights on hunts, run the wilderness for hours dropping bombs and do other things that "normal" people wouldn't understand.....
Seems we are crazy.

But I think there are people who have too much cash and this is the real problem. Prices in EU are crazy, prices for UL old guns, for armors and other tools. MA can see how much players are willing to pay and so prices go up themselves....
As long as people want to spent big ammounts of money on things that don't even exist this is all going to be one big mental hospital....

I personally think it is crazy to pay such huge amounts of money for something that is supposed to be just entertainment. I would never pay thousands of dollars for a rifle or armor in EU.

Of course not everyone plays EU just for a few hours of fun, but see it as an investment so what looks crazy to me is perfectly normal to them. If I understand it correctly, ND is doing quite well with his investments in EU, so how crazy is that?

The crazy ones to me are those that pour money into EU hoping to score the jackpot with hunting or mining.
