Beacon from the same coords.

After several failures (lag, server chrash..etc) we decided to do a 23pedder beacon to celebrate Kilkara's birthday.

After a little party in our apt, we headed to Zeus.

We TP-d to the coords and precisely jumped in to an other beacon team...

We had a 23 pedder and they had a 29 pedder beacon from exactly the same coordinates!!!



The little devil told me to try to call the 2 ships at the same time to see what happens....
... but we aggreed that the other team will do their otherone first so we wished good luck to each other and took off.




From then everything happened according to the usual book: robots... nl nl nl pixie nl nl nl gnome nl robot crap.

hehe we had the same a few months ago, north from zeus, we called the ship, and both teams has gone into it

We had the same thing happen once. We had called the ship, the ramp had appeared, and we paused at the top edge of the ramp for our traditional group photo.

As we were getting our screenies, green dots appear on the edge of my radar, moving towards our location.

Someone in the unknown party calls out "Hey, that's our spaceship! Stop!"

As we're already onboard, team is set, we're ready, I inserted the beacon into the nav console.

The last thing we heard from the ground as the ships door slammed shut and we blasted into space was:

"NOOOOOOOOO!"

Ive noticed that there are a limited number of locations that beacons depart from. I've twice taken off from the same spot just outside Neverdie's kingfisher land, and one just outside of twin in the bot fields.

Never had another team there at the same time though.

Yep, there are a finite number of locations that beacons occur. The robot shuttle simply takes you straight up like 2.8 kilometers, if I remember the altitude correctly from another post that discussed the flying bug and running into the exterior of a beacon mission while up there.

With this in mind, there has been discussion that levels are randomized. Since the locations are constant, I intend to try and note which levels are connected at each location, check with an additional beacon of different value at a few locations, and incorporate that data onto the beacon mission map on the next uprev I make.

Lol! The beacon that sammy talks about, the 25, that was the one I ran with him just before he ran that one in the pictures-And the same thing happened! We met with another team trying to run theirs and we were waiting because another team was already up in the sky, running their beacon
