I was thinking of the fact that when the new planets will be implemented everybody will go and explore them. This means that all the Calypso LA will have no hunters nor miners for a long time.
So in few words buying a LA now is a sure loss. Its not an investment |

You might be right but then again you might not. We still aren't sure if our gear will carry over to these new planets, if there will be a large fee to get there, and just how many ppl these new planets will bring into the game. Correct me if any of this stuff has been answered but I've not seen it...
It may cost 200 peds to get there and you show up in OJ's starting a new. In which case I'm not sure how many ppl would go... From what I know of Creative Kingdoms there will likely be a marketing campaign associated with this new planet release which will bring thousands of new ppl to their planet. It's all up in the air at this point, we have absolutely no idea what it's going to do to EU as we know it other than change it in some respect. Hell it might just bring in 2 or 3 times the playerbase in which owning an LA wouldn't be such a bad thing... Not that I know any of this stuff to be true but since we're speculating. ![]() |

And who knows maybe LA's on other planets will be available?
Shops, Malls, Banks? Times are uncertain for sure! Specialy when i tcomes to BIG investments. But the angle i gather is that, that when these planets are implemented they will be aiming at new players and when released will have their own advertisements(IRL) and ingame spawn points. Much like players who access EU fro Realityport start life out on CND. Creative Kingdoms has already said they will be releasing a movie based on their planet, so this will generate a new user base for their planet. (much the way most cartoons are a vehicle to sell people merchandise) Sure Calypso will get some spill over from this but i do think Ron is right when he says that we will be exploring other places and leaving Calypso for a while. Be interesting to see how it all pans out. Calypso will always be home to me! ![]() Jamhot |

If one of the new planets provides something more compelling to me other than what Calypso offers, I'll go. If the planets just turn out to be more of a virtual shopping mall. Well.... IMO, we have enough of that crap already and not enough "game".

I think competition will be a good thing even if its internal competition from another planet. If CKI planet starts drawing people away from Calypso then MA will have to do something to bring participants back and attract those who start at the CKI planet.
I would also think there will be some "symbiotic" like features between the planets to promote travel to each of them. There are still resources and mobs that are exclusive to CND so you have to go to CND to get them whether you make the items at CND or Calypso. Just as a made up example: You go to Calypso to mine Gazzurdite and loot enhanced processors you then need Petonium located on CND and Unobtainium from CKI planet to make a radar enhancement unit that will upgrade your Hydra interplanetary jump ship. This enhancement unit allows you to auto target pirates and use forget and fire pyrotropy missles purchased from a space dock located near the China exchange planet. Killing pirates is lucrative and the spoils(loot) of your kills can be sold to the highest bidder on any of the planets or you simply get a bounty per pirate and the spoils are a bonus. Killing pirates near CND is more lucrative due to the bounty Neverdie is putting up for each kill or capture. Just speculating here but I would think that adding planets in EU would be like adding more CNDs but system independant for the most part except for a few key items that force travel or at least commerce from system to system. Interplanetary trade might be a very big deal if EU attracts a much larger participant base. |

But again, as said before, we're speculating since we don't know how this planet(s) will be implemented. |
