HI,
Ive only been playing the game for about a week and do have a mentor that is very informative, when he's on. That's my problem and issue though. Due to no fault of his, we are in different time zones. I'm in the US and he is in another country(don't know which) but I never see him any more, he was on more often but randomly when I first started but now....non-existant. Saw him log on yesterday for a total of 5 mins. I have questions and no one really talks in our Soc, so it's hard to really get results that way also. But in the mean time when I do play I have been working on my skills, I've since upped my rifle/ranged weapon skills (only lvl 1 in this profession), taken up tailoring and working with a healing vivo orb as well. (yes I deposit) But I think I am now past the point of being able to drop him, I will ask that he drops me as a disiple whenever he comes on, I could leave the Soc but don't know if doing that terminates the mentorship.(?) My question also is, at what point have you skilled up to much for a new mentor? Or do I just continue on as is or do I just fly solo which is pretty much what I have been doing. Still want to say that when he was on he would answer questions for his disiples and offer help to the higher lvl ones, he's not a bad guy, just busy I believe. And YES at one point I did discuss this issue with him, but nothing much has changed, I know RL happens so I'm trying to be understanding...but at what point do you move on? ![]() |

You might be too skilled to get another mentor, but there are plenty of people that help and answer questions outside of the mentor/disciple relationship. (I think 20 skills points in any profession is what I read when you can no longer be a disciple)
Dropping out of a soc will not change your mentor/disciple status unless he would choose to kick you over that. I have often had a player in your situation add me to their friend list so they can ask questions if needed. Take on a TP run if needed etc. If you want to add me to your FL u Like you I am in the US, MST zone. I am usually on in the evenings from 6 to 9 0r 10 PM M-F. On the weekends I am generally on throughout the day at various times depending on what is going on. Today I am heading in to work, but will be on tonight. PM me if you are interested and I will let you know when I am on and where I will be. Zar |

Hey,
Sorry to hear about the conflicting time zones; one of the nice things about PE is that you can talk to people from all over the world but the down side of that is that you end up being on at completely different times to other people ![]() As far as I know the upper limit for gaining a mentor is something ridiculous like 20 skill points in any of the graduation criteria. I think it used to be 100 but for some reason it was lowered - I might be wrong but I don't think so... If you've been hunting or mining at all it's probably rather likely that you've already surpassed that limit which would mean you could not find a new "official" mentor. If your society isn't very active or helpful there's no harm in looking elsewhere - after all you want to get the most enjoyment (and at the moment, advice) out of the game. I think the range of NBK societies offer options for people of all levels to join and by the sounds of it they're a friendly bunch. If you're really struggling to get answers to things then posting questions here is a great way to learn new things; for the most part everyone is helpful and more than willing to lend a hand! Like Johned I often meet people in need of a hand and help answer their questions, take them on a TP run or hunt etc - the mentor system is "official" but there's nothing wrong with asking other players for help. Good luck! |

Hi,
I'm usually on in the 8pm - 3am Eastern time range. If you have the Twin Peaks tp look for me in the small service center if you have any questions. I spend a lot of time there. I'm always happy to help those who are genuine. -Arutha Calin Surana ![]() |

You did see me there. I asked you once if how your mentor situation was going, but you must not have seen that either. Was a busy place today, chat was scrolling fast! |
