Apparently I can't get one

Hi, I am new to EU, started playing few days ago, honest I dont know much of what to do. But after som sweating I deposited some money for PED's, bought weapons,armor and healing stuff. Went out and killed and healed others when I was bored. I didnt know much, and I still dont know much, and I read in chat about a forum so I looked it up and found this one. I've read some guides and followed them a little, but I still dont know much about what to do. A friend of mine who plays said I should get a mentor, but after reading some posts apparently you cant get a mentor after you've skilled certain points. And that kinda sucks. Well I dont know what I want to say with this post, only I want a mentor, but cant get one maybe.

Anyway, hope I will enjoy the EU and make money without a mentor's guidance, though I would like one ):

Join up with a nice Soc. I'm sure they'll help you just as much if not more then a mentor.

You may not be able to get a mentor, but joining any decent society will accomplish the same thing. Head over to the Soc thread and see who is recruiting.

Unfortunately once you are past 20 levels in any of the disciple-graduation skills you are no longer able to accept a mentor. It is a silly idea, even if you buy 5 ped of ammo and shoot it out of curiousity you're "too skilled" to be a disciple

The good thing is though there are a huge amount of very friendly and helpful players in game - and here on EF! The most important thing is not to be afraid to ask questions. Okay, some people might not like helping new players and some people might just be so busy hunting they don't have time to type long answers but most people you meet will be happy to help.

There's a lot to learn in game but don't try and take it all in at once because while it's important to learn about many things in the long run, if you try and learn everything on day one you're just going to get overwhelmed or confused

My SOC is small but we would be happy to have you. If you are in a US timezone you wouldent have any problems finding people to do stuff with.

Why didn't your friend offer to mentor you or, if he can't yet, recommend someone who could?

With or without a mentor it won't be an easy ride, I'm not saying it isn't possible but it's not as easy as some would have you think.

A good soc will help.
Also, don't be afraid to ask someone who looks like they have been around a while. many are helpful.
If they are not, just blow them off, and don't take it personal.

Hi mate. If you are european you can always send me a PM and you can join our soc, we are a soc with mixed people, skiling in hunting, mining and crafting. Even if you do not want to join our soc, we could find eachother ingame and I might be able to give you some pointers here and there.
