I couldn't find this topic when searched for in the forums and instead got many other non-helpful results so bear with me. I agreed to become a disciple to a certain mentor and after a week or so decided i didn't want one. Reason being because he doesn't help me at all and sometimes just ignores PM's. So one day i ask him if i can be dropped from the program and he starts giving me attitude as to why. I've actually seen a few others at the swamp sweat camp who are also his disciples and have complained about the same thing. Now i haven't seen the guy log on in since a week or 2 ago and i don't know what to about the situation. Anyone give me advice?

Unfortunalty theres not a lot you can do. The best thing you can do for your self is to find a society or a seragote mentor to show you the ropes. There is no substitution for a good mentor. You will need some one to ask questions to (IMO).
On the other hand you can try and help spread the word to the noobies that haveing a mentor is great but they need to beware of what can happen. You should find some one in your time zone and that you at least feel comfortable asking questions to. Some times my students have told me "I feel like Im bugging you by asking all these questions." I tell them "I volentered to answer your questions, i wanted this job, I would be mad if you didnt ask your questions." Thats basicly my deal with them, "I will answer all your questions to the best of my ability and if I dont know the answer I will do my best to help you find one....as long as your respectfull of me and arent a jack ass. Also even after you pass you still may ask me questions as long as you stay "cool", your mine forever MUAWHAHAHA!" lol. Anyway, thats the type of dedication you should be questioning trying to find in a mentor, to all of you seeking good advice or a mentor. Also dont just be statisfied with one mentor, you should find others to help you when your main teacher(s) are not around. So unfortunatly.....Suck it up and move on, theres not realy a thing you can do. GL. |

Sadly, there is little you can do, regardless of how frustrating this may be.
From the experience of some of my soc members, MA will not release you from your discipleship, even if you lodge a support case. However, if your mentor does not release you within a reasonable period after you reach 'graduation' level, you can then contact support and ask them to finalise the discipleship for you. You might also want to consider joining a society that helps new players - regardless of whether they have a mentor or not. Perhaps the 'reputation system' that Marco has referred to will eventually reduce this sort of thing continuing to happen. It reflects poorly on the game, and discourages new players from continuing to participate. |

Thanks alot. I already have a great society thats really helpful and such, but with having a "mentor" it also limits me with skill chips and such. I've been wanting to get rid of him but had no idea how. So final question, how do i send a support case?
Serica, if what you say is true, then what happens to the people who's mentor all of a sudden just stops playing? What do those people do if they want out or a new mentor. I'm not a diehard entropia fan, but i like the game alot. I don't think i'd be able to mount up the skills required to graduate if I'm on only a couple hours a day during the week, and maybe 6 hours tops on weekends. |

You might like to look at the chat log in this thread:
Dray's chatlog with his mentor Dray lodged a support case - and MA refused to release him from his discipleship. I should note that the 'mentor' is still ingame - but Dray got pretty discouraged by MA's response. Kinda ironic really - cos Dray works in customer support for another on-line game. |
