When I got killed by that guy with the mod dar, we first mete at the edge of pvp and the RX publically said that it was for "weak" people. I ran in with no armor, shot only at the RX (didn't hit once), I brought along 3-4 peds of random stuff and I would have expected to die from a few shots from maybe a mk2 (or the RX of course), I didn't expect to lose my anti-toxic shot to some semi-uber (>150 HP) in a one shot kill with a gun looted off spiders.

The RX/MA did what they could to make this fun, it's the spoiler I'm mad at.

The landgrab event was started as a competition for the elite. It was meant to be a venue for the best of the best to compete for prizes worthy of their dedication to Project Entropia. (Dedication being years of relentless skilling and spending).

Every LG there are a great number of people who ask for their own landgrab, and that the elite not be allowed to participate. I say to you making these suggestions:

We all built our skills and gear, and the society will probably be a noticable force this coming LG (lots of angel, some shadow, adj mkv's, rockjackers, etc..). they may not win they land they go for, but if someone else does, they are going to have to earn it. This will not happen because of reduced standards. It will happen as a direct result of hard work, and a lot of spending. You dont have to have 300hp to pk someone who does. I see no good coming from a welfare landgrab for noobs. What the hell would be the point in aspiring to greatness, if someone who has not put in the time and money can have an equal chance in a competition that is supposed to be based on skills and gear?

You can indeed catch up with some of the high skilled players, but to expect them to stop doing what they do while you fumble along trying to catch up is unreasonable. Take Neomaven for example. Now there is someone who is willing to put in the time and money to get where he wants. The man started 6-7 months after I did, and within 6 months had not only surpassed everyone in my soc in overall skills and hp by a longshot (yes, money, I know.. but it does show dedication), but also in agility, intel, psyche and strength. Those are not attributes that can be purchased. That was the direct result of a lot of time and hard work.

Landgrabs are not only there for the elite.. they are also there for the lower level players to be able to see what is possible in PE. Show up, watch the parade of eon, chronicle, supremacy and the like. See the kills from improved and adjusted weapons that many of you never even knew existed. Take your shots with your bravo's and be amazed when you see "You inflicted 1.0 points of damage". Get killed by the best weapons in game. Look at your screen in awe as you get hit for over 200, without a critical hit.

Landgrabs are not there for mid level players to cry about being unable to participate because they cant compete with the gear.. they are there to inspire you to want more. Please dont undermine the spirit of the event with cries of "its not fair!". Get to work, and maybe you will be more able next year.

I think with some luck on the analysis of this two paragraphs the design team could figure out a way on how to run the mid-level events...

Hint: Run them in parallel to uber events (just make sure that the dangling caroot for them is big enough to distract them).

I feel a bit guilty for starting all this talk about how many events for non-Ubers we had.
As most of you agreed LG is for top players (top soc members). Yesterday MA workers hunting was for more or less the same type of people. Ok, there was time for less skilled avatars but why didn't we get any info on that in game? Is it so hard to make a red letters info on global chat for MA? A well made point earler here too.

I appriciate that MA has done something, this is rather rare as they usually don't organize events or stop them somewhere in the middle. Like the one with notes...
It is not so hard to do something when LG goes on to give smaller ones some fun when ubers are being bussy with thier fun.

Another thing, Joser, I have over 70k skills (just to make the situation clear) but I don't happen to have tones of RL cash to depoist in the game. I develop by hard work (let's call plaing that :P) and deposit how much I need/can. I took part in crater event and it was fun, but when was that? I'd like to see EU a bit more alive... It is not "whining" it is just a dream.
All I mean is that it would not hurt anyone to have some more ideas for people who don't have mod/adj weapons, armors worth few k ped and so on.

And plz, when you quote do it properly. Don't type your own "more whining" as it is unfair. This is not whining, this is tring to have some disscusion here. And a quoting needs some original text in it....

~60k skills? , so LG is definetely not for you, no matter your FPS skills

Not all events in EU are for ubers. LG is definetely an event aimed at top10, maybe top20 (I would stay with top 10 though). The only part of LG where mid level players can be usefull and have fun is helping top 10 societies with that. Is anyone complaining that LG is for top 10? No, they've earned it. They play this game (pardon, participate in this universe) for years and/or deposited lots of $$$ here, so they've earned an event for themselves.
Other events that took place in the past... As Joser states properly this time, they were not ONLY mid-level events. If top 10 has an event for themselves (LG) why mid-level and low level players don't get something ONLY for them. If there was a LG yesterday, as we all expected, event with RX units would be really cool. With top20 occupied with LG and RX units on PvP3&4 mid level avas would have really a chance to have fun and get something nice. Without a LG mid level avas had really small chance to even get close to RXes.
And about other events... Lately I had ocassion to participate in Hadesheim Orb event. I was one of the first avas present there and I've been there till the end. Even globalled once... Yes, all those mobs could be easily taken down by mid lev avas or teams of such avas (if you can say that you can easily take down a mob you can't see for a while because of lag). The problem is that when elite of avatars pops in, there is not much room left for less skilled/geared ones. So I have basically one suggestion for future MA events: please MA, when you make an event, make it in few places at the time, with various maturity mobs for various levels of players and ANNOUNCE this on global chat. For example: RDI message: Argonauts Elite Leaders are attacking Hadesheim Central, Argonauts Raiders have been spotted near Minopolis... and so on. Or do not allow avatars on certain skill level enter one area but allow them to enter others... It can be done in many ways, just think MA, think... What I'm trying to say is that all events at this stage of universe developement should be divided into events for various levels of avatars, in many places.
Diversity is part of this universe. It's obvious that not everyone can hunt spiders or dasps. It's obvious that not every soc will get the land. But since ubers usually do not bother with hunting exos near the Swamp Camp, they do bother with taking part in every possible event. And they have right to, noone wants to prohibit ubers from participating in events. I would just love to see those events divided into several ones, aimed at avatars at various levels to keep busy not only top 10. Not only top 10 deposit, not only top 10 spend hours online... And I would like MA to keep this in mind...

I agree with the post above me, by proxy there are events purely for the ubers (not limited to ubers, but nobody else really stands a chance), the guides are putting on events purely for noobs (less than 20 agi or something similar), so where are the events purely for everyone inbetween? I think MA needs to take a look at the current system, and stop neglecting the largest part of their playerbase. And most importantly, they need to make it so that ALL events are not sullied by the everpresent lag.
