To those complaining who already had GC, answer this - would you rather that MA just cancelled the offer, and made everyone pay the 200PED?

I disagree with that. The ones getting slapped in the face are the people trying to corrupt the game by stealing passwords using keyloggers and what not.

Something tells me that MA's free offer might just be related to the massive worm that was discovered recently, which specifically was meant to harvest login credentials for online games.

To me it seems that MA is trying to protect its customerbase, and one can only applaud that. I'd much rather know that while I spent 20 USD on obtaining a goldcard, more people are now protected by the same mechanism for free, than knowing that the money I pumped into the game and "invested" in items suddenly potentially became worth a lot less due to a criminal gang of asswipes offloading stuff they managed to obtain by stealing accounts.

Someone depositing 5.000+ ped and not buying the Gold Card is just plain dumb. So he HAS to get it free to bump his stupid nose onto the security issues.

There is still the difficult task ahead of those dumbos of activating and using the Gold Card. So please, calm down and have a pity with them.

Just wondering how Mindark will deal with false adress issues... Lock down the account when the Gold Card gets returned because there is no "Elm Street" in "Buenos Aires"? <- no offense to either of those At least they didn't tell them to check their address, just to claim it...

The offer is a good one and should be continued regardless of what I paid for my gold card.

I don't think I should get a refund. But I should have the chance to get backup.

It is only fair since I paid for one and I deposited more than the required amount.

I'm fairly certain that people who have held their GC for over a year will be able to get at least a replacement reader. I've read something concerning this on this board although can't remember if it was an official MA post or a copy and paste from someone's support case.

It's definately a good thing from MA although personally I think it should be more like you have to buy one within your first two months. After that grace period, no GC, no play. Would eliminate nearly all fraud.

since when is it anybody's obligation to tell "just plain dumb" people what to do? since when should "just plain dumb" people be rewarded? no matter how many reasons are given for this being a "good idea", i will never understand.
