To comment the latest arguments:

There is no problem, if you give away stuff and don't get a countervalue, since you know that your PEDs aren't gained by creditcard fraud. Problem is, when you recive items or PEDs from others, you just can't be sure that they aren't due to credit card fraud or a compromised account.
