Two questions:
First, would it be possible to have this kind of event during weekend/evening/public holiday? This time, it coincided with the last work day *before* a public holiday in Sweden, (with Friday as "sqeezeday").

Secondly, I know it's tough to set something up, but would it be possible to have an event where it's possible for a mid-level player to participate? It's good with the <150 hp event, because it gives non ubers a chance. However, I guess it's pretty tough if you HP wise are just above 150 HP, but lack the pro PK gear and the PK experience that the top socs have (proven by for instance successfully conqured a land area during land grab).

Maybe it's not a problem in reality - just wondering, how long did the average "nub" player (gear, say 150 HP, marber and vigi) survive near the oil rig during the last event? If it was possible to get close enough to rig to target an RX and hope for a lucky shot, then ok, but if you could expect getting a 180 dmg hit by ml-45 PSG, python or some old adj. rifle in 1 second after arriving there, then it's a bit tough.

(Isis 59(L) and wearing vigi vs someone with tango, adj 6a2 or python rocket launcher, with my pvp skills I would consider almost being suicide...)

Actually a noob could survive darn near forever there.

you'd only get shot if you walked infront of rx unit but we had 5 of them attacking everyone would focus on them no one was there pking others.

actually to think of it I think 2 noobs in orange were standing gathering oil while everyone else pk'd rx units

i had a blast, griefers and all.

i was SO excited to have an event during the time i play. 90% of everything happens at times i can not play. the only events i have been apart of in my two years here have been a party at TI castle, the two migration events, and now this.

i didn't get a kill in, i damaged the RX well, but not well enough. i was killed 4 times by the RX XT pistol, and around 3 times by pkers. the last one was the only one i know was on purpose and that was after the event had finished and the mob turned on itself.

again, I HAD A BLAST

I could not take part, as I don't have all the gear I need. (yet) But it sounds like fun. Maybe next time...

MA seems to have quickly got a handle on the problems, a trend I hope they continue! And if nothing else, its good to see such a quick response from MA, and so much of it!

How long the fapping took, wether or not it was a joke - who did it etc will rapidly fade into the 'mist of time' - the story is already being told in game and on this forum. I don't have a view it. I just think it was a 'spur of the moment' joke that has been misinterpreted and was (in retrospect) a little bit unwise.

My only view on the event is that the +150 HP players shouldn't have gone into PvP 1 - especially if these players had already killed a Rx in PvP2 and then prevented other players from doing the same thing in PvP1 area. It seemed to me a bit selfish and egotistical.

I was there and saw very little uber PK action, I saw Star healing an RX which I hit a dozen times from range with little effect, didn't realise it was FAP action negating that ammo I was wasting or I'd have logged off sooner rather than waste my time. Star was threatening to PK people who didn't agree with whatever the hell he/she was up to, and did so while I watched.

The real arses weren't ubers here though...it was the pointless PK at the extreme range of a minor TP chip that filled the revival and gained nothing for anyone . If you can't kill an ava with zero health who can't heal in the outpost....a turp could have had me most of the time in that low health situation. I wasn't alone there.


We can all backshoot ...piss others off...etc. Most of us, including the majority of the ubers present in PvP 1 general area have better manners.

It's far from fair to tar all the guys with 150 plus health as bullies or somehow badly behaved, they weren't. It was the high/mid level guys with their shiny new (L) carbines and shinier new brains which obviously still weren't maxed.

Hate to tell you ...but I enjoyed it apart from the childish behaviour of a few.
MA would appear to have that under their consideration for future invasions, so it's been worth it in the long term if next time this type of thing works isn't it?

I hope MA aren't put off this type of thing, it's way better than nothing.

I enjoyed the event. I did get a kill in but even if I did`t the scene in pvp1 was very cool. Large masses of avatars chasing down the RX units and not too much pk from what I saw the hour or so I was around. My first pass through pvp1 I did`nt see a thing but after getting pk`ed while fighting calamusoid I ended up back at he outpost where someone was kind enough to point me in the right direction. I did go back after my first kill for more but at that time was pk`ed by a uber for no apparent reason. So it was then I called it quits. Surprisingly those were the only two times I was killed. I think alot of people were killed just getting in the way of so many others shooting at the units. Nice to see MA taking notice with intent to address the issue. The lack of lag for me was great to see too. Even more I was happy to see them make an event I actually had a shot at and low and behold I got a kill. Bravo, 6a, careful tactics, it can be done but as evidenced by the scene in pvp1 it takes a crowd to take down an RX unit. I could not have done it alone! I`m sure I owe thanks to alot of people who did damage before me. I will use up the Korss H400 I was awarded wisely.

Good fun, thanks MA for your efforts at events. Not what I expected as it was my 1st Rx event, but entertaining despite the lack of action with Rx. Seemed like it was over before it started. 'Mr.T' thanks for the laughs.
