We had a discussion about this elsewhere which resulted in MA changing/clarifying the terms. Only the winner surrenders any rights to MA, everyone else will retain ownership of their work.

I wonder if MA would be willing to purchase designs and ideas after the competition results Would make sense IMO if there are designs and ideas they could see used in the CE2 EU.

Yes, we did have that discussion. However, it still doesn't change the fact that "hundreds" of people were willing to surrender their rights.

Don't get me wrong. The contest itself was cool and offered a very unique chance to make an impression on this game. I wish all of the entrants the very best of luck and am interested to see the outcome. It's just the terms that were bad, even after the correction. As I said above: simply amazing that any company would have the guts to put up those terms, and even more amazing that people would agree to them.
