Sorry for the double-post, but it was getting confusing enough already.

It seems that you just don't like the parts of EU that are linked to real money, so you really might like something else more. There are many FREE MMORPGs on the internet. Trying to argue for changes (remember you are the ones proposing a change to the system) that you just aren't comfortable with or don't like is unfair to the people who do like the system the way it is. Many people would say "Hey this unfair to change THE basic underlying rule in this economy after years of advertising it as something else." Ownership is what keeps the players playing against each other for their share of the collective lootpool (which you seem to dispute existing). If everyone stood to benefit from every new "uber item" that dropped (even if only in the slight increased chance of being able to borrow the item) this game would turn into Players v MindArk. That is a bad place for things to go...

Did you even read my post?

I used hunting to illustrate my point. i didn't say hunting was the only proffession.
A pile of money in a trade window comes from a player, not one of the proffessions. equally, money from selling items is just changing tt value to peds (if tting) or money from a player if selling to him/her.
What i'm suggesting is not a change as such, but an improvement in security when lending out items to another avatar.
W/O lending system you can lend out items and hope that you get the item back (scamming possible)
With lending system you can lend out items and have a guarantee that you will get your item back (scamming not possible)
it's really that simple...
and no, it wouldn't hurt the market for anything but "the best around", as good items are rare, and thus can't be everywhere at once. when socmate A is borrowing my mod stark, socmate B can't. when i'm using it, neither of them can. ergo, there are clear advantages to owning items yourself even with the lending system in place.

Lastly, i've played this game for years. I've achieved really great things, and friends, in it... so don't ask me to leave that behind for another game, 'cause it's not gonna happen.

DarkFire, relax. You are getting testy. Your one-line responses aren't getting anything across except hostility.

I read your post. I am done discussing this with you. I have said what I wanted to say which is that I see why MindArk has chosen not to allow a lending system. I have listed all the things I see wrong with the idea and listened to some of you proponents of the idea to allow you a fair chance to explain more fully your idea in case my judgement was based on a misunderstanding or some shortsightedness on my part. I don't think that is the case. I genuinely disagree that it is a good idea and I said why. You aren't giving any more specific details or explaining how you would overcome problems that I suggested might happen as a result of the change. You have just insisted that because you like the idea and can see how it will benefit some people, you and the friends you can't trust enough to loan items, that no problems will occur. I disagree and rest my case.

Edit:

I didn't ask you to leave. I am questioning how honest you are about why you started playing this game or why you continue to do so if what you say you really want this game to be is, imo, radically different from what we have before us.

You mean my one line response to your one line question?
Oh, i can assure you that i am completely calm, don't worry.
And i disagree that i haven't argued my point, but it seems i haven't explained it well enough, seeing how we're going in circles.
Do you want me to write a suggestion of how a lending system could work? because i can, easily.

I don't ask for the game to be radically different. i see something that can be improved, and ask that it is.

Wohoo! Might I add that this thread is for asking Marco questions?

NOT to debate whether the lack of a lending system is a good idea or not!

Actually, this isn't the thread for asking questions...

About lendingsystem, I think it should get way to complex to create, sadly.
But I sure like the idea and would like a system like that. But there are
also possible negative things with it.
If a crafter gets a BP over something very usefull, and he's the only one
to have that BP, he can "exploit" this by not selling any of the stuff,
only lend it out to huge fees.

What would be the difference between the crafter using the BP and another using the BP?
