The exact percentages may not be spot on, but you get my drift. At least we can still all hang around the TPs for free and gossip all day. MA only taxes you in your attempt to do this. No matter what auction/shop/esi/whatever system they invent they can always adjust the "tax" to their liking, with or without such system. So thinking MA is making those systems to get more momey, is just illogical. If they just want more money, the simply increase the decay you have on your armor, by making mobs hit more often. Or even simpler, the will lower the loots by a small margin. Nobody will ever notice it then. |

There is too much missing from EU to make it a true virtual economy. For example, there are no compulsory "life-related" expenses such as food or shelter. Of course, you can own an apartment, but that is optional. Most avators live in limbo when not active, and don't have to go home to an apartment to cook their meals and go to sleep. It is much too hard to earn PED by working at a job. Sure, you can do some hairdressing, perhaps own land, trade or transport people up to CND and back, but these activities are exceptions to the rule. So most people can only hope to get PED by hunting, manufacturing or mining, and all these activities are manipulated by MA. So most people work in real life and deposit. But having said all that, I think EU is a pretty neat idea and a potentially great simulation of virtual life. If only MA managed to get rid of the HORRID LAG. The constant hanging and lagging annoys me much more than the Opalo-Amplifier issue. That can be the next topic of discussion. ![]() |

Nor do they base your "profitability" on tool combinations. The sheer complexity of Entropia makes it far more than a simple casino setup. In addition, whether you profit or lose on hunts, mining, crafting, etc, does not affect MA's income, but the available cash that is retained in the universe ... otherwise known as the loot pool. Personally I have found a definite pattern to looting when mining or hunting. Don't worry, I'm not turning into a Rattexx clone, its not a pattern I can use to profit from, just a general trend. Casinos do not exhibit patterns as they strive to ensure absolute randomness. As long as MA keeps what any person can loot based on what is input into the system, and doesn't allow it to exceed that figure, they will never make a loss ... its as simple as that. |
