Ummm.. I get invited to trade shows all the time. Sometimes I even get complementary vendor room passes just to show up. That dosen't mean the TV station I work for is anybody in the business, we're simply another network affiliate down towards the bottom of the top 200 TV markets in the US.

The crucial question here is "In what capacity has MindArk been invited?" Are they merely attendees, or perhaps as panel discussion guests, keynote speakers, etc, etc, etc?

And this one gives the schedule. Apparently the Entropia element comes under the "Platforms and Technologies" section.

i passed up on going which i was very excited about at first, since entropia was to be at one, count it, one hour of the two day conference.

linden labs was represented at almost every panel.

Just a quick update:

I am attending this conference, and lots of interesting info was presented by the many speakers on Day 1, including a nice presentation by John Bates, the Evangelist for EntropiaUniverse.

I will prepare a quick summary of the event and some of my observations and key points of discussion when I get back home on Friday.

Nice? I daresay that it was,,considering that the collective summary of his presentaion was lauded as being "Flat and unintellligable as well as outdated".

Who the hell uses the word "like" after every other word?

MA needs to get with the plan..any plan, PR wise at this point,lest they be viewed as "Outdated".

Personally after hearing Bates' presentation I would use the the analogy "retarded"

Other VRWs posed better views of their product and were more than capable of presenting a better perspective and intelligent diatribe as to what they stood for.

Unfortunately,MA decided to Hire a clown that had no clue as to what the game was all about and mistated facts. And used the word "like" ever other word.

And..to top it all off..these misfacts are already all over other sites. Its gone Viral..theres no stopping it now.

So,in light of what ever rule # I may have broken,and as much as you may try to put a positive spin on this..the damage is done. And theres no turning back.

You're not the only one attending this function, so be prepared for other veiwpoints.

There is an old saying in the PR world...if you cant do it right, don't do it at all. And its more than obvious,MA screwed up big time. Being some rube that is such a suck up won't help either as it will only disenchant those that think you are all that.
