Its not that easy like it sounds!
The whole itemdatabase needs aditional entry if the item is lend or not. And there must be an entry who is the original owner. That makes a lot space needed on the servers.
There have to be checks in every trade routine, even on auction, private trades and shops/shopkeepers.
There is no NODROP routine so far, that also must be implementet.
It is more than a simple 1 liner that the progammers have to do!
Think a little like a programmer and you will know why MA didn´t implement that lending system.

I propose an answer to this problem - as irl we can have THE MOB - if you don't return the item - someone will come to your house and break your kneecaps (or appropriate body part depending on the severity of your indiscretion) and of course that would bring about the natural evolution of the introducing of INSURANCE companies. MA could sell insurance broker licenses to people and require that all people have insurance within say 10 days or so or you will be relegated to the salt mines - err sweat mines - for the endurance of your life in EU also if you don't pay your premiums you will also be relegated to the sweat mines (of course this will only be until you purchase insurance or catch up on your premium payments and associated reinstatement fees).

The logic and code to implement an lending system should be laughably simple. Yes it depends on how good the existing code is, but even MA doesn't claim difficulty as their reason for not adding it -- everyone would call shenanigans on them if they did. They explained their reasons when they said there were no plans to add a lending system a while back. I'm not going to search but i imagine it was in the last Q&A.

That Crone's point with Banklicenses as well 711. Crone needs to put in items he cannot use until he pays the loan. So he needs to put in his gun to get a fap, or his fap to get a gun. Happy hunting.

But the system itself is a loan.

Changing the system to true loan, can't be that hard.

same as "lending" an item from an ingame player.


And thats good. If anyone could lend modfap and shadow it could become a little boring :S

Why should MA implement a code based lending system, when there's already one you can use (hint: it's the one banks are using):
