it's footage from warcraft 3, apparently the swedish tax man has a hard time getting money from warcraft 3 players. or they don't care about warcraft 3 and the reporters just put in some footage they thought looked nice without it actually having anything at all to do with what the person they were intervewing was saying.

this is basically what's being said for the non swedes out there that may be intersted.
Skalman talks a bit about his house The reporter explains briefly how PE works, mentions a few professions and such. Skalman talks breifly about his investment in the game, a lot of time and a few hundred k SEK. He also says that he's made a good return on his investment. Then the reporter says some things that might make an actual player chuckle a bit. "Downloading the game is free, then you can either buy stuff for your character to reach a high level in the game quickly. Or for a cheaper price slowly work your way up." "PE is also tied to a real life bank, and in the future this bank will act as a pawn shop where players can borrow money for investments in the game. But just like the real world there is no guarantee you will get a positive return on the investment." then they talk to uggla a bit about gambling addiction, and skalman thinks 18 years old is a bit young to play. Then they talk a bit about taxes. You don't have to tax for profits in game as long as they stay in game, but if you withdraw you will have to pay tax. The tax lady liked using fancy schmansy words but I'll try to translate the gist of it "We primarily monitor the Swedish "actors" (Not sure if she means as in companies that run virtual worlds, or individual players), but of course there are Swedish players in the international virtual worlds as well. And generally it's harder for us to get information from companies outside Sweden" And lastly Uggla says you should see PE as a world where you go to have a good time after fighting in the real world. |
