Me I have to say both the big auctions were awesome to watch the last Land auction and this one. Fun stuff to keep up on.

How come you didn't try to snatch a bank Death?
Well yes I have just a little bias I suppose

As for me not buying a bank - well I ran the numbers, and in the end it came down to being able to use the funds that would be tied up in the bank better elsewhere (both in the real world and in Entropia).

Bet all the MA staff had a blast watching this. They probably had a big meeting with a bucket of popcorn watching the auction on a big screen TV.

Well, gratz to MA and the new bank owners! Keep the interest low on loans please .

They're a great way to keep n00bs hoping that they too might one day have an ATH worth as much as a new car.

All they'd need to do is let someone sweat 350 million sweat from one mob...

Last edited by Constantine; 05-03-2007 at 16:32. Reason: adding sweat calculation...

Does any member of the rabble that won represent a REAL bank?

Just curious,

Even if what you state is true, more investment can only be a good thing for all participants, since this means MA would need to draw less from the "lootpool" to pay itself its "expected" Profit or reasonable Economic Rent.

Combine this with the potential numbers of new participants that press about such large-scale investments bring to EU (i.e. the TI and CND "waves"), and it seems evident that these kinds of auctions are good for everyone involved in EU, including Mindark of course.

Also, the willingness of investors to commit such large sums of real-life capital to our virtual universe represent a sort of "vote of confidence" in the future growth of EU, and thus should make all of us feel more confident in our existing investments here.

OK ... well said, but do you honestly think MA will change their ways? (more money ... more greed)

Over the last few years, they have only been getting greedier. I don't care what anyone says ... no matter how you cut it, MA has been screwing us more and more. I hope you're right though ... it would be nice to see loots again.

my 2 pecs,

we add about 10k players a week as it is... for the last month or so... maybe longer.. i have only been watching recent history...

As far as banks.. its nice for all... might even help combat price inflation... since bank owners set prices they will give as collateral...

IE imp fap collateral worth 200k...
Bank might give 150k... so they will get their 150k back and if not.... hope for default

another nice thing that is happening in the USA>.. is baby boomer have started retierment...

for foreign people......Baby boomers is a catagory of people in the USA ... very good with computers and very very wealthy... and have nothing to do...i expect if we dont get more items in loot prices could go up even more
