Gotta agree...many baby boomers are not very computer savy, especially those that will be retiring soon. Most of them were in their 40s-50s before internet and computers were a common household item.

Also, in regard to wealth of baby boomes mentioned by someone earlier. I don't believe US baby boomers are know for their wealth, I actually believe it is the opposite. The previous generation had gone through the depression which led to a lot of people being very tight with money. Thus the baby boomers, who were raised by parents who saved and saved, became spenders. Spend, spend and more spend leading to a lot of debt.

Yeah to say all baby boomers are good with computers is a laugh.

You can say they know how to use a computer. But that's as far as it goes.
Billy Gates has done the most excellent job of making the average PC user dumb as a box of rocks. This goes for the baby boomers as well.

well i only speak on what i know... i guess i am privledged... but from the baby boomers i know and have known... all are big time Execs at companies and have to be savy with computers...and have 10s of millions of dollars....

this isnt very public information... but this year would be bill gates' 30 year college reunion if he were to have graduated.... and Havard will be giving him his honorary degree

Gates and all his buddies including Ballmer will also be there and i will be in attendance as well

I will let you know how many are computer savy boomers are there and have millions/billions in the bank...

not every baby boomer is... nor is every person in this generation... always exceptions to every rule... but millions of baby boomers are coming... all we need is a few

which should not be a problem...

anyways there is no way you can disagree to that... and if you do.. then i guess we agree to disagree

Well this is the select percentage though.

Work on a technical helpdesk for 10 years and you'll know most aren't savey. }:>)

I'd say 25% are 75% are not. Maybe even be so kind as to go 30/70

I've dealt with a lot of folks in the range your talking about and they tend to knwo only what they need to to use the PC and do their job anything else goes beyond them.

Like Open up your Windows Explorer.

They open up Internet Explorer. };>)

I think these are the exception, not the rule. But, I do agree that some will join PE and that is a good thing. As far as the wealth, I guess its how you look at it. Baby Boomers (in general) don't have a lot of savings or net worth, but they do have a lot of stuff (cars, houses, etc) and usually a lot of debt. But, people who love to spend will probably be a good thing, lots of deposits.
