I'm so glad I never bought that set...

speaking of this, I just had a rare thought... I think I'm never going to buy another 'full' set of armor... only MA knows when's it not going to be full anymore... neck gaurds, crotch protectors... who knows what else is in store...

Painful as it is, the clothing deterioration system was bound to happen sooner or later. I think it will be a good thing in the long run. The way it is implemented, by getting clothes damaged while equipping/unequipping is OK too. The only alternative I can see is deterioration by damage taken, and the current system is much cheaper .

Nope, if you won't hunt in clothes, and with current system I already have to hunt without clothes, since armor replaces most of it.

There is a third alternative also - decay over time, but I like it even less than other two...

Sure, i can understand the POE owners.

I (and i guess i'm not alone in this) wonder why single individuals should get some K$ handed for free.

Only logical solution would be that the current owners can buy footguards for their set at the same rates all others have to. That would currently be ~200 - 500% over market average of the original armor parts.

Do the math.

In PE i liked shooting mobs and dropping mines ... cycling the PED (shoot, loot, buy ammo, repeat) till all was spend on decay. That was fun.

In EU way to many PED are lost on the first run or taxed away on armor change ... which is discouraging to put in any more. Because this is no longer funny.

I think having PoE armor with foot guards now wouldn't be any more valuable than having full PoE before the update. It's still a full set just like before. It's not like someone is going to part out PoE armor and this would give them another part to sell. So I don't see it as free money for PoE armor at all (and no I don't own a set).

The future of clothing to me looks brighter - the clothes look fantastic since the VU so +rep to MA for great work on the graphics. As hard as it is to swallow the bullet now - this will make more sense in time and the community will learn to live it. Clothes need to decay and crafters need a reason to craft to full tt. The ability for tailors to customise a look that is their own is a fantastic step in the right direction.

Armour decay to remove gets a -rep, it just pisses me off. It feels like an unnecessary charge that has been implemented simply because the software code was linked (ie it's simply a bi product of the clothing system change). It must be removed.

Surely MA should be focussing on increasing revenues by increasing the player base. They have two options for increasing revenues - more players or take more from the current player base. Anyone remember the thread about about guiness world records stating MA have the highest revenue per player of any MMO - that only makes potential players get scared - this is the most expensive MMO of any to play - I know people in RL who won't touch EU because it is too expensive.

Yep this echos my view. And in actual fact the fee for swapping armor also has an adverse affect on the Clothing industry. Since you no longer need to remove armor to repair it, many people will just wear the same set all the time - a lot of middle level hunters can get by with Ghost on Calypso and Gremlin on CP. This means you will never really see their clothes since they are always wearing armor so that they don't pay the extra armor decay - so not so much need to buy nice clothes.

The decay on clothing doesn't upset me - I can see some long term benefits and in fact have already spent more on clothes this VU than the rest of my 18 months on Calypso put together. So tailors are doing better out of me this VU. But the fact that the only thing people can see of my clothing now is the hem of my master coat and my hat (because I never take my armor off now) means there is not much point buying any more atm.

I don't mind the shiny armour, the 2 PEC equip fee is unjust. On just clothes I might accept it (Though maybe 1 PEC instead of 2)

Marco's going to be swamped when he gets back... I almost feel sorry for the guy...

It's exactly the same problem with PoE as with any other armor, the only difference is that there is no known way to separately acquire footguards. If it would be comparable, there should be a number of events, where the "high loot" are PoE footguards. (Yes, this would be *evil*)

For normal armors, currently the price of footguards seems to be about 1x-2x the markup of the old entire armor set. The only footguard that's economically sane at this moment are pixie ones; above pixie it's at "global" level. As unscientic statistics, so far I've looted two goblin harnesses; but not a single footguard. (I've tried caudergatus, snarksnots, calamusoids females, hogglo and atrox, and a few neconu and combibos, sofar without any other result than serious damage to my PED card).
