besides the whining, what reasons could u think MA could have for doin that weak "events" ?

- lack on staff ?
- not interested in doin events (despite ppl spend ALOT! of ped there ?)
- turning the attention from the past VU nerfs away from them and make ppl forget ?
- testing server ?

well i thought that over a bit, but i cant come to a conclusion WHY such a creative company that built up a whole universe completely lacks in that situation. mebe one has ideas ?

they need to let go of the event manager...i bet there are people with creative ideas in MA, but in the end its the event manager that has to give the final go... i bet he was on vacation with the robot event that handed out the PoE armors, atleast that was an event where (almost) everyone had a shot. (the items required dropped off of drones aswell as other robots, even a gen 8 dropped one i think). the atrox event where the hatchlings (comparable to aurli weak i think) dropped tiger harnasses was good aswell. eomon events where huge fun, they brought up the teamplay.

they need to make more events like that, not standing around a stupid black orb waiting for a few people to come and scream a bit to leave again...might have been fun to do it 2 or 3 times, but after that its same old same old...try something new!

Agreed, they need to churn out some fresh ideas, and learn from event mistakes they've made as well as the events that have been successful.

The same old ideas don't always work.

hm but the thing is. they saw in previous event that theyr servers are too weak to handle such masses, they saw ppl crying and whining over various things (times, lags, no storyline and so on)

so why they make the same mistakes a few weeks later again, then again and again. they didnt get so far in business if they would have acted this way in everey business decision.

there must be some real good reason why MA does that poor "events" and i bet its not the eventmanager that lacks here but the ppl that tell the eventmanager what to do ..

This is precisely the kind of thing I'm talking about. How is this actively 'affecting' you for you to want it to end? I know it affects me none, other than I am following the various threads of information which I find interesting.

Other than that, it does not affect me so why wish it to end?

maybe because some of us players actually WANT to be involved in events but this one is so badly 'defined' and driven that the mear mention of "new note droped" or "some pish todo with orbs" makes more and more people turn off instantly lol

I dont wish it would end , I just wish it was more thot out and involved "the egg" lol

Maybe patience is the key? It seems to me that because it's moving along slowly that everyone is 'fed up.' Just seems silly to me. EU is all about 'the longer game/experience.' Why would EU's events be any different to that model?

While I was not able to participate in every spawn at the orb I knew it would be a lag fest because the last "Animal Kingdom" event turned into that. I think what that should be telling MA in general is that people are starved for things like this and that is why so many show up and crash servers.

Thinking back to some of MA's more sucessful events like the first Atrox unique item event and the "Blue Bunch" event these were usually based on roaming spawns but there was still lag when people found the spawns.

I actually liked seeing some of the big argos running around and I think it would be cool to have a continual type of event where robots and mutants randomly lead raiding parties without warning or mysterious orbs or missing people and TV shows.

When I get caught up in the RPG aspect of EU I can't help but think this is the wild west of the future where anything can happen and it does without warning. All of these events could culminate once or twice a year into an orb type event.

I do however see elements of what I wrote above in this Orb event so maybe MA is working hard at evolving that system as we speak.

Events will always be lag fests if MA only lets the great items drop enmass during the events. Normal great loot drop rate seems to have gotten worse and event drop rates have increased.

Maybe to curb this MA should have placed an orb of some type on every server and spawned mobs at each or is this maybe to big for them to handle?

yes but longer game experience does not mean Long drawn out boring experience, for me it started with a big yawn and continues with a "bah, dont care" (like most of my soc)
