mebe im wrong. but compare the figures. thers mebe 10 (i dont know exact numbers) foerippers in game, almost all owned by highskilled players who can use it quite eco. but there are thousands of new players runing out in ghost, hunting snables and exo. not knowing what they really do. what group u think will produce more decay ? regarding banks, i only used that as an example to show that for us new things, will be comon for newer players. |

I do agree with you that this is a way to make money. in fact, it's the basic model of some other games. for EU, I believe a high turnover is more of a problem than a solution. high turnovers where people are leaving because they are dissatisfied is very, very bad. Quote:

Now you talk about something else - general hunting. Now everyone's different, of course, but 6 months (the timescale you mentioned in the other post), is probably long enough for most people to know that ghost and snables is not eco. so again I dont follow your logic. If what you're saying is MA dont care about ubers because they cost them too much, I think you're dead wrong. Ubers cost US (the non-uber players) a lot, because they can empty the loot-pool much more efficiency than we can. As for MA, I think they love the ubers, its the ubers that keep us playing (ironically) because we all want to be like them. |

![]() i agreee with u in the point that the ubers cost US the money, but u must face the fact that thousands of new players in sum will produce more decay than our highskilled players. and yes, they love -some- of theyr ubers, but they do not love/want us all growing uber ![]() |

MA does'nt want to loose participants but they know they are going to loose them no matter what. People leave for a variety of reasons whether it be personal or they have found something new which peaks their interest. The long term players bring a sense of stability to EU if you did not have them then EU would look more like a "wham bam thank ya maam" operation and would fail. Sure attracting and retaining new customers is part of business but companies make there money from the reoccuring deposits or billing from existing customers. As long as MA can keep you here, depositing, and decaying they will make money. They don't want people to leave but they know as EU evolves they will loose customers that is just the nature of business especially the MMO business. Now back to the Orb. There is a human need for closure whether it be good or bad. The Orb, The Egg, and various other storylines may be still awaiting that closure we all need in order to move on. As the community grows MA needs to take more care in how it deals with the community whether it be the RPG aspect of EU or the game mechanics and issues with it. In the past they could get away with just moving on and never wrapping things up now it should be a matter of company pride to say they sucessfully launched, ran, and closed any type of event whether it involves mobs spawns or TV shows. If they don't show they care about EU then how can they expect the community to care and expect that community to stick around. I always liked PE/EU for its open endedness and not being "spoon fed" every detail. At times I wish there was more but other times I get it. Everyone has their idea of what EU should be or how EU event should run. Nothing is perfect and nothing will ever be ideal for everyone that is just life whether it be in the real world or virtual world. If things are just getting to you way to much in EU, take a step back, take a deep breath, and realize their are people at MA and they make mistakes too. Just think how many mistakes you have made in your career and lifetime and realize no one is perfect even those who are diluted enough to think they are. Just my gut feeling at the moment. I think the Egg and the Orb will wrap up as the new game engine and China come on board. You can view these events as harbingers of big changes yet to come or as single events that just fizzled out but that is up to the individual. I think they are part of a bigger picture and build up. There are more clues than just notes out there. So we are left to make our own conclusions until MA lets the "cat out of the bag" |

Sorry but i have to throw this topic into here
RoadMap 04-05 This was the roadmap given by MA to 2004/2005, and now atm, were reaching the end of 2007, thats 2 years more than the timeframe it was supposed to be... So, from that roadmap, what did we got? Add new functions to auction – adding functions like purchase orders of bulk items. Add new functions to societies – society functions will be deepened and much more control will be issued. Add new levels and professions for crafting. Add stats to tools – tools will get the same amount of info as weapon and armor counter-parts, making it easier to assay them. Advertising/Department stores – set up shop in a department store, advertise your stuff and become a successful retailer. Carpentry – new crafting profession, making furniture and other similar items. Enhanced chat/messaging system – allowing for more advanced functions, like grouping, blocks and offline messaging. Event tools – make tools available for Project Entropia participants to organize their own events, with ticket sales, area rentals and rules. Notary/Reputation system – are you good or evil? Can you be trusted or not? This system will help determine what kind of person the avatar is. Update “Pre-Gold” items to “Ancient” status – some items are truly rare and respected. Now, gimme a huge ROFL at this ones: Bars – Bars will be places of relaxation and entertainment, everything a weary avatar needs. (everything a weary avatar needs?) Beauty/Body shops – Shops where you can alter the looks of your avatar, with completely new appearances and styles, including piercing and tattoos. (body shops? i can see a couple of avatars with beauty/body tools in theyr appartment, thats a store? piercing and tattoos? oh, that bite i got marked in my avatar ass when bitted by that atrox,right..) Bounty hunting system – are you annoyed because you got killed by some bully? Set a contract on him and make him pay the consequences. (really? can any1 teach me to do this outside an event?) Crafters will be able to repair items – meaning you don’t have to run back to the imperial communal repair terminals. (i'm not going to scam you, i can really repair your MM, give it to me,c'mon) Food/Drinks – a new crafting profession, food and drinks will enhance the avatar abilities. (Hey, i want a pizza and a beer,u can deliver into my errr,ok,i dont have an appartment, i'll be at the Tp on PA, bring it to me there pls) Huge Mindforce update – both the way Mindforce the interface works as well as numerous new powers. (What does huge means really?) Land management system – you want to enhance your lands with new creatures, or perhaps add new minerals to it? Go ahead. (seriously on this one, the minerals thing,is true or what? New planets – what lies beyond Calypso? (China and Brasil? A recent find connected to a 3 years old project?) Space exploration/combat – discover new areas in space, mine asteroids, fight pirates, enhance your space ship with additional equipment, weapons and shields. (oh,u mean the society Pirates of Calypso, right? fight them then )Taming system – ever wanted to own your pet Atrox and ride it off towards the sunset? This system makes it happen. (oh,right, we just cant do this cause we dont have a sunset...) Vehicles– be a bus driver or maybe a heavy machinery operator. Or make a living hauling large quantities of ore. (Any truck driver to get my tons of dung i found on amethera to my appartment that i dont own, but will own?) And now the great post By Marco to finish Quote:

In PE i liked shooting mobs and dropping mines ... cycling the PED (shoot, loot, buy ammo, repeat) till all was spend on decay. That was fun. In EU way to many PED are lost on the first run or taxed away on armor change ... which is discouraging to put in any more. Because this is no longer funny. |
