2 8800gt will out class a "better card" for 100+ dollars less
they will hold some resale value for 1 to 2 years also because they are damn good cards. sell then to upgrade to one, when the pices drop again buy another. on and on and on this will give you more ped.

I could do with more clarification on what "fully supports" means?

I have ATI Radeon 9600 and it supports Pixel Shader 2.0, but now all my skinned clothing has lost its texture?

It will only have an effect if MA changes the texture resolution and pixel size, then and only then will it have an adverse affect. As I said in another thread, they don't look like upgrading all the textures as it would lag out the system and possibly render Entropia unplayable.

I have been running an SLI System now for the best part of 4 Years. best thing I ever did, Graphics are so smooth and with the GPX doing the main work on the graphics it frees up the CPU and RAM to just run the game as quickly as possible.

My Current Built which is a year old now includes 2 x Nvidia 8800 GTX 756Mb. ok i admint when i bought them they was ony just available, but they came DX10 ready a year ago and we are only just now seeing software arriving that is DX10.

So for me would rather invest the money in a great rig that as at the time future proof. now the future has caught up.

oh and if i wanted to i could run 4 different displays if i was not running in SLI and putting al the power into one window

You need to set your graphic options to full quality, then mob skins will show. You will however never be able to see the new fabric textures. At least that's how things are for me with my old 9800.

If you are not running at resolutions above 1600x1200 then SLI is worthless. Spending over $1,000.00 for two cards to run at 1280x1024 brings zero benefit except for pimping your e-penis. You bought into the lie. NVIDIA thanks you for helping them recover the money they wasted on buying 3Dfx and their obsolete technology. We will see how all the SLI owners feel after next year when the dual GPUs on a single card hits the market and SLI goes the way of Rambus system ram.

I agree no point in running below 160000x1200 with SLI. but then what do you think i am doing. Not going to spend £1,000.00 (as it was at the time) on Nvidia 8800 GTX and run them on anything less than smoking resolutions. as for the dig at the e-penis (something like a sports car as an extention) At least it is something that get usd every day, unlike the $$$ of money spent on an out fit to wear once

GF8600 or Ati HD2400 will be enought to run EU, you don't need to spend more than 150$ in graphics hardware. How long that joy will last, I don't know, but when those cards aren't enought there will be plenty of better cards available at the same price. Buying "best" thing from the market isn't ped-wise in my opinion.
