Entropia Universe and Xfire Team Up for Global Gamer Communication
18 Dec 2007  MindArk today announce cooperation with Xfire to offer existing Entropia participants the opportunity to install the Xfire application during Entropia Universe updates. With almost 9 million registered accounts worldwide, Xfire is a free tool that automatically keeps track of when and where gamers are playing PC games online and lets their friends join them easily. It works regardless of game type, server browser, or gaming service that a player is using. Xfire eliminates the hassles of running multiple programs like IRC or instant messengers to keep track of when and where gamer friends are playing. A promotion campaign to highlight Entropia Universe to the Xfire user base is now beginning which will see a special developer's chat, prize giveaways, advertising on Xfire, its website and more. Anyone care to post (or post a link to) explain what X-Fire is?
I have never heard of it. Ever. Basically I would like to know (in more detail than MA provided, from someone who uses it), what does it do, why should I want it, how does it work, what benefit do I get from it? Until I know why I should want it, I don't want it (whatever it is). Call me a Luddite, if you will, but I don't collect computer programs for the sake of filling my HDD's. |
