An idea about how some things could work,

one idea, and some/all of which I suggested to MA.
I'm sure some or all of this or something similar was mentioned by other people, suggested to MA by other people before I mentioned it/suggested it to MA, auto pilot, spaceports, etc, for ships and any other future vechiles we might see.

Spaceports could be created, maybe added to the roof of the malls, and/or somewhere else, they could offer the ability for pilots to choose between auto pilot and manual modes, people could buy tickets from terminals, and then receive an automated message when the flights ready, it could feature automatic boarding when you click board flight, etc. as well as other features. I imagine there could be a docking fee paid to the owner of the landing pads/spaceport when a ship lands.

At the time of writing, I don't own a hangar. I own the PA Mall.
so maybe some might think i'm biased by me wanting spaceports in the malls, but I don't think I am, I do think they are a good idea, whichever location could be used. But I think the malls would be a good location, and it seems logical for them to be in the malls, for various reasons, also considering the fact that "two spacecraft landing pads for future use." were mentioned makes me think spaceports in the malls could be a possibility.

Club NeverDie is a good location for a spaceport, but I Imagine we will need some located on the planet as well (to get into space).

This or something similar may already be planned by MA, who knows.

I posted the main idea in the wishlist, to make this shorter. .
I look forward to the new planets, & space events, etc.

Same here, i've really been wondering how the PRC government is intending to police the interaction with us decadent, corrupt, capitalist westerners...

You will notice over the last 3 or so years, a lot of that tight policing has been eased. Not all together no, but the Chinese have made some realisations over recent times and are slowly changing with the times to achieve their intended goals

China is a completely different place today to what it was 5 years ago and is changing more-so with every passing moment.

Those attending the 2008 Olympics willl have the chance to see this as China works to showcase what it is all about and changes that have occured in china over the years.

On a side note : David/Justin/Marco @ MA, you may want to look into seeing if Dotman - Second Earth will be showcasing in any partial way around the time of the Olympics.

Lets not forgot the 250000 homes that where demolished to create the olympic terrain.

And that the owners got a very short notice and 0 refund.

Yup one of the down sides to a Communist & Totalitarianist country, let us not get into that debate. Communist/Totalitarianist countries have many pros along side the cons, main pro is they do not have the continous craptology & red tape us democrates have.

They say they are going to do something, they agree upon it and do it. Ultimately in terms of getting things done, they are done effectively and effeciently with the least procrastination possible.

Not that I am for them pulling down these homes, yet that debate should be taken to a thread relative to that topic.

No where did I state what the returns were, for others it may be feasible, for us it would be a waste of time as the return potential is extremely low compared to other activities and investments that could be made based on the current price tag of hangars and current operations that can be under-taken with them at this time.

~ Sparkz

btw, I did major in economics Anyone who does their homework can easily look up the history (With a bit of searching over the net also) what each hangar sold for originally, along with a few that have resold. Anyone with a nut in their noggin can see the artificial jump in price over a certain period (Very short period mind you) with no basis for increasing the rate of return. I am not saying this is a bad thing by any means, but if you have bought one at the 10k usd price and look around the poker table thinking your the winner, yet can not figure out who the fool is. Then undoubtfully that fool is you. (in the short term anyway, without taking into consideration future developments which may also include an increased number of hangars / space ports on other worlds with much cheaper hangars/alternative setups to invest in)
I guess such behaviour is called taking a gamble - it's not necessarily foolish, but in the eyes of an economist, I can certainly see why you'd call it a risky thing to do. It may turn out to be a lucrative move, or it may turn out to be a ludicrous move. Only time will tell, and some people have decided to pay the price in the hope of greater rewards.

Aye agreed mate,

It would be a personal assessment for each individual as to the risks and return potential they wish to invest in. For myself & partners, other options proved to be far better investment options based on current prices and in-world circumstances at this time with regards to hangars.

heh had to reply, even though this should not be discussed in this thread. The greater majority were relocated that accepted the governments ruling, most of which now have much digs than they had prior.

Those who refused were given an ultimatum and deadline. Some of these people also relocated, the rest who refused the offer and passed the deadline basically got kicked off the land, the chinese government does not muck around in such matters.

Sad but true, one of the downsides of living in a country under such a system where the land you own is ultimately really owned by the government, you only pay for the right to live on that land until the government tells you otherwise.

~ Sparkz

PS. Only a very small % out of the total number were displaced in the end.
