The official launch of the Imperial Calypso colony ('Operation Gold') commenced five years ago. This, The First Wave, began arriving at 23:53, in the year 2003, local time.

Operation Gold was a risky enterprise. The highest operative within the Calypso Defense Force, Major Jenny Carramone (Captain at the time), remembers the event: "The operation was a great risk. The previous attempt to get a foot hold planet side was a disaster beyond comparison in recent military history. The robots proved to be a fierce adversary. Many brave soldiers bought the farm while reclaiming the new Eden. Technology didn't work as intended; com was often down. Worst of all was the critical transportation directive, or CTD, that made it impossible from time to time to get down and dirty, and stopped eager colonists from fighting and doing their duty. It was a time of trying patience and morale was low. But humanity prevailed; the robots are no longer a threat to Calypso's existence. From my point of view, the mutants, the poor bastards left in the aftermath of the First Bot-war, are the ones we need to put our intel on. All and all, the First Wave has proven to be a solid endeavor and the Entropia project a great success. It is my pride and honor to continue defending the colonists, both old and new, for the years to come."

In order to celebrate this amazing feat, all colonists who arrived in Entropia prior to today and who have taken active part in Calypso's development, will receive a commendation of remembrance that shows that they were part of the First Wave. This commendation is a mark of respect for the sacrifices, challenges, anger and passion, the colonists endured during these five years.
