Mindforce focus question

Hi

Im a noobish sort of player, i sweat quite a lot and would like to move into mindforce. Firstly i would like a forcus chip, how much are these and where do i get them from? Do you need to get the minforce implant first?

1. Focus chips can only be acquired by looting mobs (AFAIK). If your not a hunter (I have never looted one in almost 2 years of hunting, so don't try and get one that way, it will take ages), you will need to buy one from another person, or in auction.

2. In order to use any Mind force chip, you will need one of the implants.

If on a small budget, get a level one Focus Chip, and a TT Implant.

Should not set you back too much.

And you'll need Mind essence (ME) to use the chip. You can buy ME or you can make it by refining Force Nexus and Vibrant Sweat together in an energy matter refiner (available from TT).

Focus chips only use one ME per click so a little ME can go a long way.

The implant will need to be inserted using the implanter tool from the tt under surgical section...it can be sold right back after use so it only costs wear for one use. Repairing the implant before inserting it is wise since it will need removing to repair in future and re-inserting ...using the same tool which costs 2 ped a pop in and out to use.

The actual chip works like any weapon or tool once you have the implant.no need to do anything except maybe hotkey it or make an icon for it.

Focus is a cheap chip, but a lesser TP chip is much more useful generally if you can afford one...same implant will be fine for as many chips as you carry as long as they are within that implants levels.

It's worth noting that some people dislike being focused without asking for it...not sweaters usually, but in towns and outposts. It's best to ask or find sweaters to skill on.

Actualy its not true anymore, after the VU 9.0 we can repair implants without taking them out.

One of the things VU9 changed that was good was being able to check the state of the implants...now not having to remove them either, that's a bonus.
I would have removed mine and wasted some peds if you hadn't mentioned it, so have a +rep
