About "MindStar Radio" (MSR)

On Wednesday, July 8th, MindStar Radio (MSR) was created. Entropia and its expanding universe gained its second radio station with a mission to provide music, entertainment, and news to the citizens of Calypso. MSR officially went live on Friday, July 10th, with the launch of "MidNite Moods - Love Connection" on the Pier at Corinth Beach between midnight and 03:00 MA time.

A huge thank you goes to 711 for graciously hosting MSR, and being that light of hope that helped to keep things on course.

MindStar Radio URL

The URL for MSR is ... mms://www.entropiaradio.com/mindstar ... and the live radio stream can be accessed by placing this URL in your media player. You can also place this URL in your browser, which should automatically open your default media player.

Radio Station Schedule

This schedule will be updated throughout the month as needed, and a new schedule posted on the first day of each month.

DJ's will become an integral part of the MSR operation, and will not only provide an eclectic array of musical content, but also be available for live coverage of events, as well as MSR-designed and sponsored activities and events for the citizens of Calypso.

Our DJ's and MSR staff will be multidimensional in their interaction with the community, and support the MSR philosophy and mission of getting the community more involved with each other. Our goal is to be a conduit that showcases what the community has to offer, as well as give Calypso citizens a means to partner with MSR in ways that benefit the community as a whole. An example of this would be our Pay it Forward event that is currently in development, and as we get closer to a finalized structure, more details will be revealed.

Moving Forward

Much is in progress at this point, but we are building a quality foundation before moving forward and adding additional DJ's. Currently, the only DJ shows offered include my familiar MidNite Moods - Love Connection on Friday nights at the Pier on Corinth Beach, as well as the Sunday afternoon Flashback oldies show, which is now being broadcast at Corinth Beach just West of the teleporter, and The Twitching Hour, brought to you by my partner and MSR Assistant Radio Manager Twitchie.

When we have our foundation in place, additional DJ's will be added who will provide their own themed shows, and as the information becomes available, it will be posted here in the MSR forum. In the meantime, we offer a 24/7 jukebox with a variety of musical content in between any DJ shows, or programs that are presented, such as the weekly News Broadcast with Bonus Content (check radio schedule for air times).

Additionally, event promoters and the community now have an opportunity to sponsor a unique playlist of music either during events or off-times that can also include advertisements of services and/or upcoming events. This is all free of charge to the community.

There are also plans in the works to develop the MindStarRadio.com website, and as more details are available, the information will be shared.

Much is on the agenda for future programming, such as on-air mini-player profiles, along with full interviews that have already been confirmed, and include such notables as our Entropian Evangelist John Bates, and Treasure Island proprietor Deathifier. As more information is available, it will be posted here in the MSR forum.

Management

Twitchie, Leader of the Skillin' Villains society, has become the first staff member to join me in partnership as MSR's Assistant Radio Station Manager. We have known each other over the years, and share the same philosophy and dedication when it comes to our mission to serve the community. Twitchie is a well-respected member of our Calypso colony, and will be a tremendous asset to the overall operation and expansion of MSR.

Message to the Community

My deepest appreciation goes to all of you who continuously support my efforts within the community. The growth of that support has been nothing short of incredible, and for that I am immensely grateful. My involvement in our universe has always been a dedication to you, the colonists of Calypso, and my mission is to continue in that vein in order to provide entertainment, news, and Entropian profiles, as well as kick-ass fun at every turn.

This is a very exciting time in our universe, and I thank you for joining me on this adventure, along with the rest of those who will grace the virtual halls of the MindStar Radio studio in an effort to vibrate your lives, and bring you musical experiences that stimulate your senses. It's all about making your time on Calypso a little more interesting, exciting, and just plain fun.

PS. Whats the requirements for becoming a DJ?

Thanks Kydde ... there is much on our agenda, but we are carefully assessing each project in an effort to provide the best array of entertainment that we can for the community. As far as requirements for becoming a DJ, we are also developing not only an interview process for those who might have interest in presenting their own unique shows, but also developing broadcasting guidelines that will assist in keeping the quality of MSR programming consistent. When we move forward in this effort, an announcement will be made here in the MSR forum.

My Dear Graphics Guru ... sounds good indeed ... and it would be great to see you on the Pier at Corinth Beach now and again. Thank you, not only for your well wishes, but for being a consistent support in my efforts with your awesome graphics. The MSR poster was a knock my virtual socks off surprise ... I absolutely love it.

Hello there Eol ... I love the poster too, Baradur did an awesome job, and quite the surprise. I only give him a few guidelines with nothing too specific at all, and then just let him put his creative talent to work. I'm never disappointed. Just like I'm never disappointed with your friendship, nor the unique presence that you bring to my virtual space ... as well as in my ear when we connect. You are truly someone special, and I believe that the way this friendship evolved was destined by fate, with much to learn on a plane that perhaps most rarely get to experience. I'm looking forward to this continued path of (non-religious) enlightenment.

You betcha girlfriend ... he has the voice, the personality, the energy, and the right attitude to bring something special to the community. I've had in-depth voice chats with Twitchie, and we are not only in sync with regard to our missions and what we want to bring to the Entropian community, but we have very similar RL professional experiences as well, which makes this partnership that much more sweeter. I couldn't be happier that he has accepted to jump into this adventure with me. It's going to be a fun journey, with the community as the primary beneficiary.

Thanks my friend ... your support has been unwavering as well, and greatly appreciated ... and for those of you who have already added the MSR URL to your media players, I will be running yet another live stream test this evening when I get home from teaching my class, which will most likely be about 01:30 MA time if you're interested in tuning in for a little bit of fun before the big launch Friday night.
