I ran into you yesterday north of shinook and yes :/ mining was bad...
I hope your luck will change, for the better ofcourse .
My oppinion, first hof than get MS, since you will only lose peds after each new mining unlock (See CGA ).

Sorry to hear of your losses in mining. Mining at the moment is very difficult, it is hard to break even these days and has been this way for me since the last two VU upgrades. I am now at level 35 prospecting and 22 survey. Mineral sense made no difference to my luck in fact I think it got worse when I unlocked it. The only difference MS makes is that you have a better chance of finding rarer ore/en-matter, at least that is what I have found.
Have you tried a 211 finder? if not try to pick a used one up at a reasonable price and give it a go. I say this as I went through a bad spell with a 105 and changed to a 211 and for some reason did better.
I hope your luck changes soon as mining is a chore at the best of times and more so when you are loosing ped.

Hmm yeah the 211 treated me good and my return started to drop at lvl 11-12 and somewhere there i switched to OF 105. However, i have tried the 211 again after that but it was absolutely no difference in either tt return or return with markup (other than good vs bad run ofc)
