Well thanks to those who have replied to this, shame the guy who took the ship didn't reply but there ya go I guess.

It's interesting to see how many people think there should be a deed given to the miner (both on this forum & ingame) so I may approach ma to ask them about that.

I am sure they would want there game to positive impacts on people and not the shit grief that this kind of thing can cause.

I have also added a poll to gather the thoughts from other people.

I like how it is at the moment, the rush to get there first is good fun . Understand how you feel though since there's no indication that the ship is anyones to claim. Maybe they should make a warning on the finder saying that it is there for eveyone to get to like the pvp4 alarm?

The evidence posted seems to be conclusive that the ship is spawned by the miner.

Perhaps the whole idea is to persuade miners to carry guns/ammo/armour as otherwise you might not be able get to & loot the ship.
This then means there is the temptation to hunt a bit while mining. (decay)

If only the miner who spawned it could loot it, all they would need to do would be lead the bots away from the ship by dying once or twice, and then loot the ship. No ammo used, or decay incurred.
If you know all it takes is someone else to come along and loot it while you are running back to it after dying, you run to it, stop when it's in sight, put your armour on, start those guns blazing, shoot the bots, and loot it. MA get decay.

Personally, if I found a ship not through mining, i would wait a bit, to see if anyone turns up, finder in hand.

To be honest if I see a ship, I'dd push the button and claim it. Maybe not nice for the miner, but finders keepers. If MA didn't intend it that way, they wouldn't done it that way.
And to be really honest, if it was pvp area (like most parts of amethera) I'dd shoot the miner so I could claim the ship first.
I know it's not nice, just call me a bitch :P, but atleast I'm honest about it

Don't get me wrong .. I know I have friends and soc mates who would totally run for that ship. I can't say I wouldn't either. I just haven't come across the issue - yet.

But there's no need to rub it in someone's face that you took it - and what you took, you're going to sell it for xxx amount of peds. Just seems childish.

I think that the ship should definitely get a deed. Then, just like a mining deed you have - let's say - 60 minutes to get it. If you don't - it's open season on that ship.

Being a miner .. I would wait at the ship a few minutes - to see if another miner came along to claim the ship.
After a few minutes .. I'd totally steal those swirls and charge up my Tp chip !!
