Hi everyone
I was wondering if anybody noticed that claims, stones, fruit and dung seem to spawn in the same areas? For example today i updated my Mining database again and i saw that in 2 cases i found a claim, stones and fruit/dung on the EXACT same co-ords over a period of a day or two. I also noticed that in some cases i find fruit directly next to a mining claim. Even the last global i had was directly next to some fruit. If i look at my mining map, i can see that over a longer time (about a year or 2) i have found alot of claims and fruit in the same areas and since stones were introduced into the game, it seems to also spawn where i have found claims in the past. It is because of the above that i drop a bomb/probe whenever i find fruit/dung/stones and sofar i have had a bit of luck with it. I told a SOC mate of myne about this, she tried it and she said that it doesnt work for her at all... now i would like to know, is there anybody els that have noticed this or currently doing this and had some luck? If it does work, it could possibly be a good tip for new players if they start mining ![]() |

Yes,
I have noticed that rebombing fruits or stones might yield a larger find for me. However, not always. |

I always tell everyone to keep their eyes open when a bomb goes off nearby. I can be running and see fruit when the screen shakes. I am very sure 80% of all my fruit finds have been due to a bomb dropping.
I doubt that a bomb spawns the items (In what I am seeing) but makes them stand out and not have the same motion as their surrounding graphics. There have been a few times that the piles of fruit I have noticed have been doing a slow movement from surface to underground. Usually I turn off wind effects when I am mining or near miners to catch the motion of fruit piles (dung too actually). I have not seen the same thing with rocks yet, but they are a bit smaller. |

Ha ive been thinking of making a thread for this for a while now.
The only problem is.... When i spot a ground spawn right before i drop a bomb/probe its almost always a NRF. Ive been keeping track on the last few and im 1 claim in 10. (edit make that 1 in 13, 3 more today so far, wtf this topic comes up and i am finding lots right before i drop :p ) Ive found a load of ground spawns mining too(214, i tracked em ;p). But most are when im moving, or extracting. Not as many when im about to drop. Anyone else notice that the piles you find are much smaller these days ? I never had a single didget count of an item befoer then, and ive had 12 finds of 8 or 9 since then, with a lot of 10s and other small ones as well. Last edited by Atraie; 05-11-2008 at 20:00. |

I have not noticed a lower count lately. I don't really look for fruit and stones that often, maybe I should open my eyes more, but the last fruit I just picked up was a stack of 51. It was while hunting, argos north of Twins Mall, not mining.

I have found fruits, stones, dung nearby claims too. And the other way round too. But it was very uncomon.
IMO: Claims spawn at the same area .... hardly at the same spot, it is just luck. The same will be fruits, stones, dung ... probably ![]() |

I find fruit, dung, and stones near claims too, because that's when I've stopped moving...
I tried an experiment once where I walked between every drop, and I found 5 fruit spawns, 2 dung spawns, and 1 stone spawn at random places in 100 probes. It wasn't worth the time. |

thanks for the replies
![]() Sofar based on everybodys replies, i think it is safe to assume that when you find stones/fruit/dung, there is a bit of a bigger possibility that you can find a claim at the spot or near it ![]() I dont think anybody will argue with me when i say we need all the help we can get to break even in this game... this tactic could possibly help to break even more often ![]() |
