Question: The ultimate mining logger..

What should a mining logger do according to you? ie i'm planning to possibly code one once i finished learning c++ so i want your input on what it should do.

ie should it log everything, tool used etc etc and what not.. put in everything you could possibly want and think outside the box also if you can :P

size
depth
resource
tool
amped
runs (should let you create mining runs)

should be integrated with a map system
should let you do complex searchs
should make average calculations per run to help you keep track of losses and profits

The ultimate mininglogger would do no more, nor less than recognise when a claim window is open and then automaticly add the information to a database.

I actually have a piece of code somewhere which should do part of the job, but crye2 and all that it will probably not be usefull for long.

are you using any type of text recognition?

No, I never actually got any further with it. Trouble was, when I started he project, that text recognision was very hard, but a friend of mine helped me clear things up so that most OCR's would work.

But as I said, I never continued my efforts.

I started something like that last night

so far I can get the text from the claim, but I still need to use a ICR / IWR on the image with the extracted text

If you pm me your email, I can send the code to you. It isn't very well tested, but should work. What it basically does is that it binarises the input image and output a new image with the relevant information in a clearer form.

After that, any ocr you find should work.

Very nice, though I think that what I have got, does a better job of it. Seems a bit blurry. have you tryed to do an ocr?
