Question Can u give me an advice ?

Hi there,
I am nooby miner and i have some questions for uber miners (if they could answer)..
So im mining with Probes only (enmatters). At the moment i have ~950 surveying. Im using 211 L finder.
So i wonder, it would be smart to use any amps of enmatters for me ?
I heared some ppl saying "Enmatters amps isnt very effective and it would be better not to use it".
Waiting for answer.

Are you making profit in your runs? ie. if you get 110% every run or more, getting amps that cost 110% or less is a good idea.

All you can really do is track where your money is going. If you are selling stuff just to get more amps, chances are you are not making a profit. Remember, sticking that amp on there is overhead - the cost of the amp + decay to your finder + decay to your extractor + decay to your refiner + cost of probes = what you need to find out there. Some days are better than some. If you find a hot spot do not share or other will mine it dry. Since I moved up to the 212 and 213 finders I am shying away from amps. I am making more profit also. Point is - every miner is different and every mining run is different. My best advice: stay away from CND ;-)

Good luck!

Talking about profit, im not making GOOD profit every run, but im making like 10 peds profit or less. Sometimes profit is pretty good but sometimes i loose like 10 ped's on TT price. Fo example, to days ago i have made ~200 ped profit with 200 probes (i think its pretty good), but next run wasnt very good (i have lost like 20 peds on TT price) with 200 probes.
Talking about CND, sometimes i make profit there, but im out of CND cause mostly i loose peds there (nowdays).
I think if i could find a spot with lots of claims there, i should use 101 or 102 enmatter amps, so i could get bigger claims. Besides what is decay of 101 and 102 enmatters amps (how much cost to plant one probe with each)?
Thanx for answers guys

101 is half of your ammo, 102 is 1 ammo. (so for probes 0.25 and 0.5 while for ores 0.5 and 1).

I am personally against amps, but maybe would be better to try use one when u "feel" would help. And 102/103 on this matter, 101 is too low to make too much of a difference.

However, if you're happy with your profits, I see no reason for using amps.

The problem with using amps is the fast decay on them. Remember that it doesn't help you find ores better, it just amplifies the ones you do find. So if you have a bad run then you could buy an amp and use it up completely without finding anything worthwhile, so you've then lost the cost of the Amp, bombs and decay on your finder.

Always a bit of a gamble, but then saying that it's also annoying when you find something big and then with you had an amp on it to make it bigger

I've just come back from CND and had a go at 2 OA-104's and an OA-108 on my OF-105 finder (my first real time trying out amps). I was very lucky and got quite a few globals and an uber and came out with a big profit, but it could've easily gone the other way and i'd be down a loooooooad of peds (which can happen a lot if you mine regularly)

End of the day - if you feel lucky and fancy a little bit of a gamble, use an amp - if not, stick to the finders only

Note though that certain amps require certain skill levels in order to use them, so don't go and buy a big amp without checking first.

So if i understood corectly, i need some lvl of skills to use some kind of amps (like 103).
Could u say if im ready to use 103 enmatter amp with 950 surveying or its just a waist of ped's ?
Thanx for replys

As the others said - check the item to see if you are skilled enough for it. When you look at the stats for the item, skill progess is the key. Anything under 100% walk away. I agree that the single most important part is FINDING the stuff. Amps do not help to find anything. I am off amps for a month (November) just to see how it changes my profit margin. So far... I am making money. The last VU (as usual) moved all the hot spots anyway so I am not going to make a large investment until I can track down my ore fields again!! Mining can be fun and frustrating at the same time. I am doing OK with just the 212 finders and bombs/probes. Does anyone think using amps get you skills faster...?

Here is what you need to do.

Track your current finds (ore/enmatter) with no amps.

You should consistently get tt value of bombs/probes in ore/enmatter value .......... if not (even tho you can global and HoF) you will not be at break even or profitable in your mining runs overall if you use large amps.

If you are at tt value of bombs/probes (break even) or above (without taking into account of market markup) then your probably at the point to start using 101 amps full time.

Unless your just in it for the thrill I wouldn't use any amp I couldn't use 100% of the time and at the minimum break even because using amps off and on is a real crap shoot and the end result will usually be at a loss overall.

Just my 2pecs worth.
