Also is anyone running XP either pro or home, who has gotten NRF working?
I'm running XP Home SP2, and not having any major problems.

Sometimes, I get a sizable delay (up to 3-5 seconds) between hitting a hotkey and the drop/claim registering in NRF, and my computer is unresponsive in the mean time (it's sucking my last few CPU cycles), but the delay doesn't get any better or worse during a given game session. It's either there or it's not on any given evening. I generally attribute that to the Sucking Memory Wound that is Microsoft Windows, not NRF.

well, I pulled some screens out from the right side of the popup and there's one that's a black screen totally dark. Is that where the map is supposed to be?
If so where is it? I noticed the slide thing that says "darken map" and fiddled with it but that didn't lighten that square black area any...

Sorry to be a pain....

Well you almost found it

When you see the black screen, either:
1. Use the combobox above it to select one of the maps
2. Double click a record from a mining run to center a map to that point.

Darken Map is used to darken the map once you see it, so the colors of the finds become more visible.

Got the same using w2k and 1.5 Gig RAM
In most cases I run it without delay, but after switching area/continent it happens. Sometimes even 30 or more seconds.

The problem Im having pretty much makes the software unuseable for mining. After speaking with Squee, and turning the sounds on so I hear whats going on, every time I hit the hotkey for bomb/drill, I get a fail sound. Therefore Im not getting any bombing data,,,It does seem to create the screenshot, as I temporarily turned those on (caching)...Just wondering if anyone else had that same problem,,,,XP pro, SP2

PS,,,,I know squee is very busy so I figured I would try to help out

As for the delay and hanging. I do not experience this myself, but I run on a multi-core system with win2k. I had an idea to solve this for people with a single core and I will try to implent that as well for the next update and see if it improves. First time i hear people complain about it ...

Here are the steps (in detail) of how you are supposed to use this program for mining:

1. Drop bomb or drill AND press P at the same time (incase it wasn't made clear in other posts, stand still when dropping bombs/drills while using this program). This results in initial acquisition of the coordinates that you dropped the bomb/drill at {This step is optional if you wish to keep track of where you drop the bombs/drills so you can see where you've mined, where and when you hit claims, in what order, etc}.

2. After your coords pop up on the screen, press the hotkey that is bound to "Bomb/Drill Drop" (have it bound to a key in Numpad - I myself, as well as a few others in my soc, have noted that for some reason they can't successfully bind it outside of that area...) You should hear the sound of success at this point.

3. After a successful mining hit, right click the deed to open it, and have the page visible with the type of claim, size, and coords - then hit your "Claim Deed" hotkey. You should hear the sound of success at this point.

Another thing, if you choose to bypass step one (not everyone wants their database filled with hundreds or thousands of bomb drops :p.) sometimes when you go to capture the claim deed it will keep failing - just press P and it will somehow fix it.

Oh and p.s. - do NOT move the claim deed window with the data in it! Very important that it stays EXACTLY where the default open location is - that is where Squees program picks it up.

Important details! Thank you! I will try again. (I still have not had success with it.)

First of all this is simply the best mining tool I have seen. It captures so much info and displays it so cleanly I have barley stopped mining since I installed it.

One thing that confused me a bit was the use of the "Bomb/Drill drop" in the manual. I guess it means "Bomb/Probe drop". A petty distinction but an important one in the field of mining. It made it look like it was going to be a lot more complicated to use than it really is.

My request for a later update - Import mining run from CSV format. I have a ton of old claims on a spreadsheet and I would love to add them to this.

Squee rocks

Hmmmm, I think I was hitting c first bomb of the run, then p, then dropping bomb then the hotkey for bomb/drill drop. but not p and dropping the bomb at the same time. Also I generally mine on the run, so maybe that is the problem as well. I will try again, when I get home from work. And yeah I already knew not to move the deed window. I havent even tried just capturing the deed info,,,Im going to try that tonight separately from recording my drops.

What about the parse hotkey? When is that used.

I too would like the CSV import capability, as I have a rather large spreadsheet with data.
